No. I am a Hindu, educated in a catholic school & college.

I respect the Bible and its teachings.And the church.

Whether it is Catholic, Protestant, etc,these are smaller divisions of the whole which is Christianity.

And crap it certainly is not.

I firmly believe the chatholic church is full of crap. I grew up roman catholic until the age of 28 when the blinders came off. Just take a look at the genocides committed by papal decree signed by the POPES! Pope Innocent I and the II both signed decrees to have genocide committed. Historical fact - just look it up. Then what happens if the 3rd tablet that was purported to be given to Moses shows up and it really does say - men cannot absolve men from sin. Where does that leave the priests? Priests who hear others sin and commit the most terrible sins of all. The Pope knew what they were doing yet allowed those crimes to continue for decades - he just moved the priests around to another place to have them hurt more young people. We have a saying in my field - "The Catholic religion could not possibly be what jesus had in mind when he gave thought to another religion". Mary Magdalene was named a whore - with no proof. It took centuries to fix the error. The Pope knew about the concentration camps and just now starts apologizing? What type of man can he possibly be? Certainly not a man with the blessing of G-d! A Leader (and he is definitely not!) would have stood up and done the right thing - he and his predecessors did not! Once again, historical fact. Too bad all those people out there that think the catholic way of life is a stairway to heaven will be sorely disappointed when they die.

The Catholic church started out as a corrupt organization by a couple brothers preying on peoples' spirituality so they could become rich and powerful. They worship statues, beads, and gold. They absolve you of all your misdeeds so that you don't need a conscience. They guarantee you a free pass to heaven if you confess your sins to a priest that has probably been relocated because of being a child molester. The priest himself is supposed to be "above" the regular people and be a "holy" figure and celibate, which is against human nature (the celibacy rule is only 400 years old and was initialized because it artificially makes them more like Jesus). The Catholic church is the richest organization in the world, and with rules like they have, it's no wonder people want to be a part of it.

I do believe in God and Jesus, and consider myself a Christian, and also believe we should be held accountable for our actions. I refuse to worship statues and false deities, and consider that voo-doo. I also believe that everyone has a right to their own beliefs and opinions, including me.

I don't mean to step on any ones toes because I have many friends of the Catholic faith and they know my opinion, and they even agree with some of it. I respect those that can listen to criticism and respond in an intellectual and educated manner, regardless of their faith

It's full of a lot of gold that could be sold and the money given to the poor, that's for certain.

I love the way the Catholic Church preaches all that "blessed are the poor" stuff whilst hoarding millions of dollars worth of treasure. I wonder if Bono has thought of making poverty history by making the Catholic Church give away all it's money...?

I think that the catholic church as a whole have really gotten off of the path. Alot of what they do is 'religious exercise' and deals nothing about the heart or sin. And without repentence (turning from sin) where do you stand in Gods eyes? its sad really that so many people arent encouraged to read their bible or pray or to FLEE from all sin. How can you pray to an idol and think its ok? Mary, martha, peter, paul, timothy whoever else can not intersede for you. The only way is through Jesus Christ. No one can come to the father except through Him.

Yes, I am a Christian & yet I agree. They mention Jesus, but deny Him in the same breath. I say this because they pray to the virgin Mary & saints. This is wrong because although Mary had a very important position as the mother of Jesus, she is in no way any more able to forgive sins or answer prayers than anyone else. All true believers are considered saints. Also, by asking a man to forgive their sins is incorrect because of the coming of Jesus. Jesus is the only intercessor between man and God.

I agree with a previous answer that ALL churches are full of crap. Why? Because they are man-made. They involve politics, jugmentalism, cliches, cliques, and egos. Whenever men are allowed to judge other mens spirits, nothing good can come.

Yes! I cannot fathom why a follower can drink and sleep around on Friday or Saturday night, and then wake up on Sunday morning to go to church.
