I've seen it on TV once in a while but I don't remember what company it was for. (It said it would give you your credit report for free.) Has anyone seen something like that and, if so, what company was it?

freecreditreport.com

But you know...they're never free, they might tell you your score but then if you want the details you've still gotta pay, trust me, nobody does it for free!

They would give it to you for free but you have to pay to become a member. You don't need to do that. Go to unscripted.com. This is the official govmn't site where, enacted by the new law passed two years ago, you can get your credit report from the three major credit reporting agencies for free once a year. This service is available for anyone. There is registration process but it is only to verify that the right person is asking for the right report. But they will not ask you for any payment of subscription. The commercial they are showing is a ripoff. They are advertising freecreditreport.com, where you do have to pay in order to get it.

It's true. I checked it out. They give you the report free but in order to get your score, you have to subscribe to their service.
