My cat is very scared to be in the car and I will be moving. The trip is 3 and a half hours long. Should I get her a traqulizer for the trip and her wake up and not reconize the place or should I just let her bear the 3 and a half hour trip and hope she is ok... I am moving to an appartment so the place will be different but all my furniture will be the same and my parents and I would both be there when she woke up if we did traqulize her.
HELP what should I do?

I in no way care about how the trip goes for me, i don't care if she is annoying I just want her to be ok. she is 7 years old and has been through one previous move which was only 5min away. She was so scared during the move that she bit my dads hand. he had to go to the ER every morning for 3 weeks to see if he would need medicine each day. I just want her to be safe and calm but I am afraid that waking up where she has no idea where she is could be scarier to her than the actual trip IDK what to do

Depending on the age and health of your cat could depend on giving it a tranquilizer. Talk to your vet about it and see what he or she says. Not all cats can receive tranquilizers and be okay with it.

Good luck and I hope your trip is a safe one!

I would get a tranquilizer from the vet. That would much more pleasurable than riding 3 1/2 hours with a cat that whines constantly! Plus, it would keep her calm.

GET TRANQUILLIZERS! I moved a few years ago, injected the cat (I have a very big black cat); he acted stoned for about ten minutes and then he was wide awake again. Spent the next six hours moaning while I tried to concentrate on the road, broke off two of his claws trying to get out of the pet carrier. Moving is very traumatic, although your cat will get over it - but save yourself the trouble and visit the vet.

Hi there! My cat flew on a plane from Dallas to Atlanta awhile ago. The trip was 3 hours long. My aunt gave her a sedative that the vet prescribed, and she didn't fall asleep, but she was calm. I would ask your vet what they have available, and see what they recommend. Good luck!
