Sure, I love you! My love for God is strong and His commandment to honor Him was for us to love one another. If I don't love your favorite team, or favorite food or favorite ideas, that doesn't mean that I hate you.

If you say something to a group in order to stir up anger, that displeases God and some of His followers. It shouldn't make anyone hate you, but it may seem like it or sound like it sometimes.

I don't think you want people to hate you. How could that possibly help you? If you don't agree with someone else, that's OK. If you want to be respected by everyone, you can agree with those who you agree with and just listen to the views of those you don't agree with by just nodding.

You will be surprised at the amount of people that you inspire by being a good listener even though you disagree with them in your heart. Your opinions are important too, and you have a right to share them. But if you keep it positive or at least quiet, nobody will ever hate your guts. Not even a hateful person!

Peace to you always

It really depends on each individual person.

I do know some Christians who say that. But I know others who don't say it.

Jesus does love you and as a Christian, I am called to be like Christ. So, I try to love everyone. Even if it's hard. That's why I think some people say "Jesus loves you" even if they don't. It's hard to love everyone.

Truly, only one person is capable of loving the entire world and I think you know who that is.

Jesus loves you no matter who you are.

When a Christian says Jesus loves you, it is the truth and sometimes they say it because they don't like you. I don't think Christians actually hate.

Yes, I have noticed that. If, as several have just stated here, it's true that "a true Christian hates no one", then there are a LOT of false Christians around.
Eternal torture as a punishment for making a quip on an internet chat site? No, that's not hateful at all......

it doesn't mean they hate your guts, it means that Jesus loves you and they are reminding themselves to treat you as Jesus would. Christians are not supposed to hate, but are free to dislike actions committed by others. Would you rather they blow you up like some other religions' believers do? Words can hurt but they don't kill.

If you are in a heated discussion with a Christian, and if nothing is being accomplished by what the two of you are saying, a Christian would make that remark and walk off . Finis!

Not all Christians. I don't know you but I can tell you that I love you. I love you for who you are. I do not feel hate towards anyone. Confusion, doubt sometimes, and sometimes I may feel disappointed in people but I do not hate.

You are so wrong.

Jesus loves you and I love you. Maybe you have a complex. Maybe you don't think you are lovable. I noticed you used the hate word. Usually when people use that word they feel that maybe the world is against them. They feel that nobody cares for them. Poor little me, everybody hates me. You are so wrong.

That's not true. I am a Christian and I don't hate anyone other than satan (Hitler comes in a close second).

When I tell someone I'll pray for them, it means that I'm concerned about their well-being.

That has happened to me also, so i know what your saying.

But they forget these words..so their problem, not yours.
