Like most hypotheses, there are usually a lot more factors than are being considered. One of the causes is that, others are mentioned by other people, sometimes it's just not having anything worth asking, sometimes it's fear of what response you'll bring. You don't have that. Neither do most of us. That's what keeps Yahoo! Answers going.

Keep it up, folks.

We do ask questions. Just not here. If I have a question I want it answered by someone who is just interested in earning points. I've seen too many one-word answers or answers that do not even address the question to waste my time asking one on the Yahoo Answers platform.

I know it all (well a lot of things) and I ask some questions.

But I try to ask questions that require a little thought before you can answer it or for specific information that I actually want real answers to (see my questions for examples.)

Also, asking questions often opens you up to some very nasty replies. I admit that sometimes I get nasty when I shouldn't.

Nah, its just that the point system is somewhat moronic in that encourages more mindless answers, i.e. this one, that actual questioning. Question taken from the Socratic method leads to more knowledge; frivolous answers leads to Yahoo! Answers.

No, but we are better at playing the game. You realize it's all a game, don't you? Or more acurately, a social experiment.

I know that I know it all. If I didn't know that, then I would not know it all. See how that works?
