Seems like a nice car. As much as Ameircan cars are put down and the uneducated public agrees with it. I know someone with a whole fleet of them, and they couldnt be more happy. Also he claims that awd is a must he wouldnt have it any other way.

It's very conservative looking, but I think it's a handsome car and I like the conservative look. It's oddly tall though and I hate that. I feel like I'm standing at a 4x2 truck when I stand in front of one. I think it would be far sexier with the current styling if it had a lower height. Give it that long, sleek, low look. It would look more Mercedes-like, versus the current awkwardly tall dork look that Toyota started. I've heard they are having problems with these already. Random stalling and transmission problems...what a shock, coming from a Ford. I havn't driven one, but I've heard they are dogs and need a beefier V6. I read somewhere that Ford will introduce a new 3.5L V6 on this car soon. Not a fan of the recycled Taurus engine the Five Hundred currently has. I just hope the 3.5L is enough power for this car. Overall, I think it's a nice car though. The reliability factor makes me really nervous to own one though.

Apparently not enough people do, because Ford is in deep financial doo-doo, and the car is not selling very well.
Car & Driver panned it in their revue too.
My good friend has one. It's very roomy, and decent in bad weather because of 4WD, but if it were my money, I would buy a Toyota Avalon. The engine in the Ford is very underpowered and the car is unlikely to hold a good resale value. It will make a very nice NYC cab.

Typically with ford, it'll run nicely for about 40K, then the curve steepens definitively.
Fords are mobile parts-hoppers for after-market shops.

It looks much better than the jelly bean Taurus it replaces...but it needs more power to back up the muscular shape.
