Earl Grey gets Lemon. English breakfast gets Milk. Green tea gets neither and shouldn't truely even have sweetner.
If you ice black tea, it should have lemon, even it's a milk-getting variety... however, iced thai tea has sweetned condensed milk.... nummy!

I don't know about properly, but I do know that you should only put lemon in bland teas- such as Earl Grey. If you want to add milk to tea, put it in teas that don't need extra flavoring- like orange spice, or cinniman. I'd also try milk in camomile. If you're a dangerous eater, meaning that you like spice, then you should switch what I just said.

does'nt matter really unless you drink aromatic teas, they're
best without milk. Regular British tea is good with both.
