The fizzy drink contains glucose syrup, plus colourings, flavourings, etc. (see the bottle for a full list).
Glucose is a type of sugar.
Sugars, like starch (these are carbohydrates) are used by our body for energy. If you eat or drink more carbohydrates and lipids (fats) than you need then your body converts the excess into adipose tissue (fat) beneath the skin.
There is nothing special about Lucozade, it is just another fizzy drink. Much the same can be said about Red Bull except that this contains a few other bits and pieces including vitamins B6 and B12 (both easily available in a normal diet). Most 'sports drinks' are like this and each will have its own recipe containing stuff that won't do you any harm.
I noticed that during the hot conditions of the World Cup tournament, players seemed to be relying upon water.

It is an energy drink. It contains lots of sugar as well as other nutrients which can be lost during exercise or illness. It tastes great as a soft drink too (especially when chilled), although it is a bit sugar-laden to drink all the time. Glass bottles taste much better than plastic or cans but I think that about all soft drinks.

LOL.. I used to get this in Australia, it's like Gatorade. It's a thirst quencher, usually used by athletes.

Costs you money and puts lots of sugar in your system quickly.

They use it to test people for diabetes because it has so much sugar in it.
