If you know company is coming over and you clean the house - do you leave one or two things around to make it look like you weren't trying to clean the house???

Yes, I want it to be nice, but other people are much cleaner then I am. So if I try to make it perfect, there will still be stuff out and people might think "this is clean to him?" So I leave a few small things around to make it look like I did not try to clean up for them, but I am naturally a clean person.
Yes, I let others thoughts influence my actions. Anybody who says they don't is simply not being honest with them selves.

No, never. If I clean the house, that means I sort everything in its place.

No. If I go through the trouble of cleaning I don't care who knows it.

NEVER. I am as clean as possible and I don't care what people tink. The problem could be that you are too worried about what other people think. Just be yourself!

NO, NOT ON PURPOSE ANYWAY. IF I KNOW COMPANY IS COMING OVER I DO WHAT I CALL THE "TEN MINUTE CLEAN-UP". I JUST STRAIGHTED THINGS UP A BIT SO IT'S NOT TOO MESSY.

I would make sure the house was tidy, so they can get on with the important things.

No need to. Keep it spotless and they will admire you for it.
