Cristians are always trying to sell their faith to everybody, but whenever somebody of a different religion tries to convert them back, they get all upset. I don't get it? Especially since christians push their faith into peoples faces, incerting their religious beliefs into the political arena, sports and all kinds of other things, as if some god, any god, cares who wins a baseball game.
So christians, why don't you have respect enough for others that if you try to convert them that you get bent out of shape when they try it back?

To the person who got bent out of shape regarding the political aspect, the National Anthem is the Star Spangled Banner, which incidentally has no god references.
Answering the sports query.... When an athlete says a god gave him the _______ to do _______, how is it not pushing religion into sports? Privately praying that nobody gets hurt is one thing, claiming to be destined by a god to win a game is totally different, and most likely insane. You never hear a person who blew a game blaming god for his mistake, only the victorious, it's laughable.

I guess they never heard the phrase, "You can dish it out, but you can't take it". Fundamentalists have been on the attack for years now, trying to deny rights to homosexuals, trying to outlaw abortions, trying to keep women from obtaining equal rights, and trying to impose their own morals - many of them non-biblical - on the rest of society. Non-Fundamentalists are finally fighting back by speaking out against their campaigns, their media onslaughts, and their mistaken notions of truth, and the Fundamentalists don't like it very much. They can dish it out, but they can't take it. So when people of good conscience stand up for their rights, Fundamentalists cry foul - they claim they are being persecuted.

I'd like to know how you think Christians are pushing their religious beliefs into peoples faces in ball games and such??? First of all this country was found by people who believe in god and the country believed in them and agreed that it should be "One nation under god..." I'm guessing your one of those people who think that we should remove god from everything from our constitution which made us who we are and from our money and everything else. You remove it and your going against what our ancestors did for us. If your ancestors didn't help create what the USA is under god then you chose to come here (or your ancestors did) and if you didn't think it was right then... no one made you stay. I have nothing against other religions or legal immigrants, but you don't need to put down your country just cause you don't like the word god. It stands for more then just "god" in the religious sense, it stands for what our country was created on.
Back to the point... the constitution and the anthem of our country is not pushing Christian faith onto others... knocking on the door telling us we're sinners or we're going to hell unless we change to a different religion (what ever the religion is and what ever a persons current religion is) is trying to push religion. It's basically recruitment for a religion, kind of cult like isn't it?!?! I don't go onto someone's personal property with my propaganda and no one needs to do it to me. If a person wants to see what is out there, go look, and if you decide you like another religion's beliefs better then switch. NOONE needs to push there religion on anyone. And generalizing that Christians do is insane! And generalizing that the get bent out of shape isn't right either. There are some specific groups that tend to do but don't generalize them with ALL! Need need more education about Christian religions if you truly believe that ALL Christians do what you are saying.

I don't get upset- I think everyone does the best they know how. Just because I happen to believe they're wrong doesn't mean I get mad at them for trying. Belief is something in your heart, and almost impossible to change.
As for our Christian faith being pushed in the public arena, Christianity has always been a part of American life. It's nothing new; it's just that there were more people who believed the same way years ago than there are now.

You know I really don't mind. I think if you are very secure in the fact that your religion is the true one that it does not bother you. But yes you do see a lot of people that way. I also do not push my religion on any one that shows they do not want to at least find out more about it. My religion however does send out missionary's and they a lot of times go door to door asking people if they want to take the discussions. But they should not be pushy or at least they are taught not to be. I do not feel that the most important thing is the religion you believe in but if you truly have taken Jesus Christ into your heart.

I, as a Christ-following believer, do not find myself upset when approached by others, as long as they are respectful and not pushy themselves; however, many times they are quite rude, disrespectful, and want to debate my beliefs, as opposed to accepting I have made a choice. As one who follows Christ, not religious Christianity that thumps people, but believes in the power of the Holy Spirit for persuasion, I hope my life reflects more of who I am, and my mouth has to do less work! This is what I would like to see from others.

They believe what they want to. And they think what they believe is right. Not all Christians are like that though. But don't get me wrong, some do, do that. But I guess anyone from any religion may try that. But they just think that they're right, you might do the same thing if you felt strongly in something.

I am a Christian but I believe that you should believe in who ever you wish. I dont inflict my faith on anyone and expect them to do the same. If I wanted to convert i would seek it out and not leave it up to someone to come up to me in the street and try and change my religion. Hope that answers your question?

It isn't just Christians, it's anyone who has been brainwashed into believing that they alone have the answers. Regardless of what cult they belong to, they are incapable of thinking for themselves, and formulating their own opinions. I think life must be very easy for those people who put all of their trust into a man (the pastor) and never use their God given intelligence to do their own research, and draw their own conclusions.

Nobody's ever tried to "convert me back", back to what I'm not sure, but it hasn't happened. I have had JW's come to my house, which I don't like. I don't go to anyone's homes to convert them, so stay away from mine. Actually, I don't try to convert anyone, we're to spread the word, and I think pretty darn most of the world has already heard it, so I don't know of anyone who hasn't heard the "word" yet.

You are making false generalizations. Not all Christians are like that. Some people of other religions are like that. That's the way some people are, not the way all Christians are.

For the same reason athiests get upset when others try to convert them. Why do so many participants in this forum insist on collectivism?
