I would wait at least 24 hours to make sure everything is dry. I'm going to finish painting my apartment this weekend finally, and I know i'll have to wait 24 hours to unpeel the painters tape. =) Good luck!

It's not really clear what you're doing, but if you're papering with textured paper then painting the paper you put on, wait as long as you can. 24 hours may be enough, but I'd rather leave it at least 48, maybe 72 depending on weather (humidity). Otherwise the paint will soak through and re-liqufy the paste, then it'll all fall off.

If you're painting a wall/ceiling and using a finish / coloured wallpaper. Paint fist and leave that to dry before wallpapering.

I would paint the ceiling first to make sure paint doesn't splash onto the walls. After doing a ceiling you will be glad to wait 24 hours before doing the walls.

72 hours at least...it gives the paste time to dry out and the wallpaper time to set back on the wall. Otherwise the paint will go through the wallpaper and then it will be too wet to stick!

leave at least 24 hours little tip if you painting the walls a colour emulsion give them a coat of white first this will soak in then put the colour over it save you money as you will be surprised how much paint will be soaked upif you using masking tape /painters tape take it off soon as you painter othewise you will end up with eneven looking edge
