That is said in the Catholic Church. The correct response is "And also with you." Also many early Christians greeted each other with "Christ is Risen!", and the response is "Truly He is Risen" They are both great greetings.
Peace of Christ,

even if u think it's a good thing to say - and it is -
imagine how u would look going up the street saying 'peace be with u'
it would sound like u'r having a hard time with life.
u would look very weird
people would start calling u names behind your back
and people would think that u'r demented, or even crazy
the only way christians would use that as a greeting is if the president started walking around saying 'peace be upon u' to his fellow citizens.
get my point!
u only greet each other with those words (hello, good day) coz they sound less wierd and people have been using them 4 generations
as far as i know.

Well why only greet the Christians, Why not greet all who are in hear. "May peace be with you" is a very general term for all religious groups.
"May Jesus Bless you" will be a more Christian term - I don't mind if anyone tells me that with a heart though I am not a Christian. I will respect the fact that person respects me and truly bless me with what that person believes in.

i presumed that a life like Christian became someone who became Christian yet held political evaluations that ought to life like. as an celebration, a life like Christian instead of being professional-existence (better Christian top), may be professional-determination or professional-choiceANDpro-existence. I always have got here upon it annoying even as political stances were conditional on being called a particular faith, considering that could quite be bastardized/corrupted right into a "believe me, or you're banished from God's favour" it truly is a terror-depending leverage device that i do not imagine wisely reflects Who God Is, or how God works.

I actually do at least close out phone calls and emails with the words Peace. I like the way it sounds too. Check out this scripture to go with your peace though.
Matthew 10:
11And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
12And when ye come into an house, salute it.
13And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
Peace

By saying peace be upon you, can peace be upon me? - being peaceful depends upon our own perspective of life - Anyways its a good practice, peace be upon you

Well, because we don't know for sure who is a believer. God only knows the heart, other peaple just might be faking it. Never know. I'd like to think that whoever says they are a Christian are, but wouldn't bid them God-speed if they wern't

I don't know.. a good fistfight every now and then only hurt the participants, after all.. But it's good for you, gets the blood pumpin', keeps your adrenaline running, gives you an exercise, if you will. :)
