That is so subjective. Favorite bean is sort of like favorite color or car, everyone is going to be different.
I prefer bean to ground (who doesn't) and my favorite is the organic Guatamalan I can buy at Whole Foods, but here in Austin, I can get Rutamaya medium roast beans (Rutamaya is a local shop here) at Costco for an amazing $11.50 for 2 lbs. The stuff I love at Whole Foods is nearly twice the price and not worth the difference.

There are many good coffees out there. A friend of mine gave me this lecture that coffee beans and tea leaves are sprayed w/ alot of pesticides. I have been drinking less coffee and only organic when I see it. Up in the New England area on the eastcoast of US Mcdonalds sells Newmans Own , Distributed by green Mountain coffee from Vermont. Its organic grown and taste great. www.GreenMountainCoffee.com I like to grind the beans before I make a pot of coffee. It seems freshest to me.

I am a coffee fanatic and forever in search of the perfect coffee.
The best coffee beans I have tasted are Don Francisco Coffee Traders' Java Estate; and after that, Intelligentsia's. Both are available online. (While I think Starbucks makes very good coffee, I'm not that impressed by its beans.)
Someone else here who seems to know highly recommended St. Ives Coffee, particularly its Ethiopian coffee, but I have not tried it.

Depends on your taste. I am not a big fan of Starbucks coffee (not counting espresso) when they brew it, but if you have a percolator the Verona is very good. I like to go to small shops that sell only coffee. We have one in Medina, Ohio called the Coffee Colony (cute little place) and they have VERY good coffee.
