I think the girl is an amazing talent and no doubt good for the game of golf. She brings more expose and excitement to the game. TV ratings should be high with Michelle a part of the field and that's a good thing. Not to mention the more she plays against better talent the better she's going to be. She needs experience and what better way than to play. Lets say she doesn't compete against the men until shes 25 how will her nerves be then? But, if she competes against the men several times a year it gets easier handling the pressure. So I say let her play more PGA events.

I think if she keeps playing as well as she has over the last several weeks she will make the cut.

Below I linked a good story by Bob Harig on espn.com about this week's John Deere. I do agree with some of the comments already made that she needs to start working on winning tournaments rather than being a novelty, but then again, let's look at her situation: can't officially be a LPGA member unless they give her an exemption (won't happen), plays as much against the best competition as she can to prime her for when her LPGA career DOES start, and she has pressure from her endorsers, aka Phil Knight, to get as much exposure as possible.
So to all the haters out there that say she should stick to women's tournaments, they need to be more analytical when looking at her particular situation. Yes, I do think she will make the cut this week, and in some future tournaments, but I don't think she will ever compete to win in a men's event. I agree with her decision to play however under her circumstances right now.

On Thursday, she was six over par, and on Friday, she withdrew early because of heat exhaustion and food poisoning after completing the first nine. The weather has been hot and humid where the John Deere Classic is at-upper 80's, lower 90's with heat indexes in the upper 90's and lower 100's. The weather on Friday was in the low 90's when Wie started her round. She went to officials and said that she didn't feel well so she went to the medical tent and left in an ambulance to go to the hospital with an IV in her arm. She has since been discharged from the hospital and is doing fine. About 3:45 CST I heard on the radio that she was holding her stomach and "walking gingerly." She is doing fine though, but didn't make the cut and quit before her round was over. So she is done. Currently, Joe Ogilvie is leading.

If she's going to make any cut, this might be a good one given the relatively weak field compared to other tournaments. With the British Open coming up next week, it looks like most of the world's best players aren't even paying attention to the PGA schedule for this week.

All that being said, I'll still predict that she doesn't make it. I think she has the talent to do so eventually, but I guess I'll doubt her until she proves me wrong. It will happen sooner or later, but I think her short game still needs a lot of work before she can seriously compete with the men.

I also hope not. like mentioned before, she doesn't dominate the LPGA, and she does not dominate even the driving! then every one knows her short game is not PGA caliber yet. her average drive of around 260 will just not cut it against 300 yarders. (also, driving distance isn't all that great of an indicator, the PGA drive leader at 318 yards rarely qualifies for anything good) she's very talented, but it's just the difference in the way a man and a woman are built. she should take annika's advice (someone who does dominate women's golf) and basically stop being a novelty.

On the contrary, after round 1 this would seem to be shaping up as her worst PGA performance ever.

At this point she is nothing but a Nike shill with no chance of really competing, but providing lots of exposure. I suppose as long as fans want to see her play on the PGA she'll be there via sponsor exemptions.

Personally, I would rather see her play 5 more LPGA events per year and maybe actually get her first win!

I hate to say this but I hope not. She wouldn't have a shot at winning. She doesn't really even dominate in the LPGA yet except for driving distance. Let her prove herself there and then give it a try later when she has a realistic shot at competing and winning in the PGA. She's young and talented but not polished. Let her learn some patience.

I think that she will due to the weak field.
