Why are you trusting people on yahoo to answer this question?
1) Read the package insert / instructions
2) Call the drug store where you got the drug and ask to talk to a pharmacist - ask them this question
3) Call your doctor's office
4) If you bootlegged the medication from your girlfriend and you don't have a script for it, you can still call any pharmacy and ask to talk to a pharmacist - tell them you lost the sheet that came with it.
5) You obviously have access to the internet - this was on Yahoo health/meds
What are the possible side effects of acyclovir?
Stop taking acyclovir and seek emergency medical attention or contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following serious side effects:
an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives);
little or no urine production; or
unusual bleeding or bruising.
Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take acyclovir and talk to your doctor if you experience
nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, or abdominal pain;
a headache or lightheadedness; or
joint pain.
Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.
Don't ask people that don't know c.r.a.p. about medicine to help you out with a possible heart arrythmia. PLEASE go see your doctor. Good luck.
