My guess is they get mad because they do not like to be called Catholic. There is still a lot of prejudice against Catholics as well as other brands of faith.

Catholism falls under the blanket of Christianity. However, a lot a Catolics don't like to be lumped in Christianity. Catholism is a very old religion and most of the other religions in Christianty have only been around since the Reformation. Also, the other Christianity religions were formed to rebel from Catholism. I personally don't care if you call me Catholic or Christian. Being a Christian perosn just means that you practice a religion that believes Jesus was the savior. I hope that helps.

Some denominations have a very black and white view of religion. If you don't believe exactly our way then you are wrong and not a christian. These people seem to take offense. That Catholics are Christians because the belief system is so different. What they forget is that the catholic church was the first christian church and that the bible they use was put together by the catholics.

Ithink they get mad because SOME Roman Catholics think that they are the only real Christians. A real Christian believes that the way to heaven is through Jesus.....the denomination doesn,t matter. Some Roman Catholics believe that you must follow the pope or Mary and they don't believe that those who follow Jesus ,without believing in the Roman church are really Christians. They get mad because some Roman catholics, treat other christians as though they aren't a real Christian. In our churches creed we say "I believe in the Holy Catholic church"......not the Roman Catholic Church. One shouldn't assume that all Christians are Roman Catholics, after all, some Jewish people are Christians, too.

You have a lot of good answers. I just thought that I would add 1 thing.

All that you need to do to be a Christian is believe in Jesus Christ as the son of God. Since many different religions believe this there are more then just the Catholics that fall into this Religion.

It would be like you telling somebody you are American. Then they reply or you are a New Yorker.

Most Christians are really catholic. Catholic means universal. There is also the Roman Catholic Church, the Greek Orthodox Church. The Roman Church is really the least catholic, because it is centrally controlled.

Catholics are kinds of Christians, like Mormons, etc. Christians and Muslims are kinds of the Jewish religion. The Jewish religion is a kind of monotheistic religion. A monotheistic religion is a kind of thought. And a thought is a kind of tool. What is interesting is how one thought can bring about endless others, even conflicting ones that still work with monotheism of course; but the real kicker is that out of all the religions on the planet, it is the Abramatic tradition that has the most violence attached to it.

Because there are many demoninations of Christians. If you are a Catholic than you are a Christian. But if you are a Christian you could be Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran, Episcopal, etc. Christian is a word that describes one who believes in Christ but all of the above denominations are Christian denominations.

No, you are wrong.......SOME Catholics are Christian...

The Pope's proclamations that the god of the Roman Catholics is the same as the god of the Muslims should cause discerning Roman Catholics to leave
that religion of black witchcraft, which has obviously enthroned Lucifer as its god. Then and only then would the Pope's proclamations make sense.

Shame on the Antichrist Popes, Presidents, and Princes that say the god of the Muslims is the same as the God of the Christians and Jews.

Catholicism is not a denomination. Only protestant churches can be said to belong to a denomination. The Catholic Church is the product of the schism in 1054 between the Bishop of Rome (Pope) and the rest of The Church. The Church is now called the Orthodox Church. Catholicism is directly related to The Church but has added its own doctrine since the 7th ecumenical council in 787. The Orthodox Church rejects much of this new doctrine.

Every catholic is a christian. A catholic is a follower of Christ.

Not every christian is catholic. There are several confessions of christians, the biggest of which are catholics, orthodox, protestants.
