the only way to repair split ends is to get your hair trimmed at least every 6 weeks. Here is some information that will help you to avoid split ends in the future.

Over brushing will cause split ends and exaggerated backcombing will also make the hair split since it is disturbing the cuticle.
Brushing hair when it is still wet is one of the most important causes for split ends because wet hair stretches by as much as 25%.

Coloring and perms make hair weak and vulnerable for split ends. This type of hair needs extra care and should be treated with the appropiate products. Use a lot of conditioner and comb your hair through before rinsing it out.

Heated appliances can make hair become dry and finally it splits. Try to avoid using heated hair appliances as much as possible! If you are using them anyway, make sure to protect your precious locks with a potective product.

Towel drying is not good if you want to avoid splitting hair. You should blot your hair and then carefully comb it through with a wide toothed comb. Avoid using a hair dryer as much as possible since the heat won't do any good to your hair.

Elastic bands and all sorts of other hair accessories can damage your hair. Avoid using uncovered elastic bands since these often pull out hair when being removed. Other accessories will damage or weaken the ends of the hair.

And last but not least: Your health will affect your hair.
If you have a dry scalp your hair will split faster because there is not enough lubrication on the hair follicle. Dull hair caused by a low fat diet will also be more vulnerable.

Hope this helps~

You have to cut. There are some conditioners that advertise they will 'cure' split ends. But all they really do is make them less noticable for a short amount of time. Once a hair folical is split, it's split. Trim off the ends and make sure not to over condition next time. When you condition long hair, work it in from the nape of the neck down, focusing primarily on the ends and not the scalp. Get regular trims to keep the split ends from splitting further.

Although this might sound a little harsh.. but believe me dear, cutting off the split ends is the best solution. I've tried them all, hot oil, hair mask & etc.. doesn't seem to work. Just a waste of time! To prevent them from split again, rub your hair with extra virgin olive oil 1 hour before wash and make sure you put conditioner after washing. At the mean time, avoid hair dryer. Good Luck!

Maybe you need a good trim. Trimimg every 6 to 8 wks. will keep split ends away. Also use a good Hydating shampoo & condisioner. Biologe is a great choice. They have a wide range of products.

I think you probably need your ends trimmed. The products will help prevent the problem, but once they are there, you have to get them snipped off. Some type of spray conditioner that you leave on after you shampoo would help prevent them. You should try Paul Mitchell. I use it on my daughter's and it works well.

Cut it girl! If you leave it too long your hair will split all the way up the hair shaft and when you decide to cut it, you'll have to take a lot more off. The only way to get rid of them is to cut them off. Also if your hair is weak as well, go find NeXXus's Emergency tonic. It puts some of the lost protein back in and helps prevent more damage.

are u using salon products? try brocatto products they r great! also keep your hair trimmed dont go any longer than every 6 to 8 weeks for a trim. also try a reconstructor at a salon, and a clear or colored conditioning gloss. redken has one called shades that will help seal those splits. this is very conditioning. this is semi permenant and no retouch required, unless u wish. hair will be in much better condition and very shiny. trust me on this one.

You need to get a hair trim! That's the only thing that works.. those shampoos and conditions help prevent them not repair them. Thats a marketing gimick.
