It's usually because they are losers and have no one else to blame. Illegal immigrants are an easy target that doesn't fight back. These are also the same people who blame the blacks, Jews... for all of their misfortunes in life. Just ignore them and they'll go back to their trailers and Jerry Springer soon enough.

This issue is just an election year distraction meant to throw off the dumbest in our society from demanding that our representatives talk about real issues (war, taxes, the environment, health care, social security...). We've had the exact same percentage of illegal immigrants for the last 120 years and nothing is going to change that. Besides, 80% of all illegal immigrants come here legally and overstay their visas. If the government was serious they would be going after that group. Instead, they've aimed for the smallest group that comes in illegally so that even if something is done about them, the much larger percentage still gets in.

But don't worry, the people who fall for these types of distraction have almost forgotten it and are now deathly afraid of flag burning, gay marriage, and people dancing to fast (or something).

The most ignorant in our society are always the most bigoted.

PS Anyone claiming that "they're taking our jobs" is more then welcome to sell oranges on the freeway on-ramp anytime. Consequently, anyone claiming that "they're breaking our laws" who ever speed, throw cigarette butts out their window, download music, change lanes without signaling, cross a street without a cross-walk or at an intersection…. ….is breaking the law as well. And breaking one law is just as bad as breaking another. Being a citizen doesn’t give you any more of a right to break that law then anyone else.

I do NOT hate anyone!! I might hate what they are DOING,but that doesn't mean i hate them personally!! I even posted about this very thing, but some people took it the wrong way,and called me a racist!!!!
I do NOT like the way ILLEGALS sneak into the country, drain our social services, our educational system, and our medical system!!! ALL these services are meant for LEGAL citizens, and illegals did NOT earn the right to use them!! I LIVE in a border state, and i have seen illegals sneak over here for many years now. They got welfare,low-income housing, food stamps, free school lunches,WIC,AFDC checks, and free medical!!! They were considered "migrant workers",so they were able to get ALL those benefits, which are reserved for AMERICAN citizens!!! So, for every illegal that got benefits, they TOOK AWAY from every LEGAL citizen!!!! Also, most illegals do NOT pay taxes (which PAYS for these benefits)!! And others use STOLEN and FAKE i.d.'s to work. Is this FAIR????

Also, when they sneak into the country, they can NOT be checked for criminal backgrounds,OR communicable diseases, which is on the RISE,directly due to the influx of ILLEGALS!! If they come here legally, they are CHECKED for all this.

By SNEAKING into the country, they show DISRESPECT for, not only our laws, but also our country AND our citizens!!! Flying the mexican flag in THIS country, is a sign of INVASION, and people here are REALLY upset about that, including ME!!!!

I have alot of reasons, and they are all based on statistics and some amount of personal experience. I really encourage you to read for yourself. I see yars has given his usual sources but I will supplement them with some of mine.

http://www.hispanicsforsecureborders.org/

This has some great info about how illegal immigration actually hurts hispanic naturalized and native born citizens, as well as other info.

http://www.cis.org/

Contains objective infomation on just about every topic on immigration. By far my favorite, you can find anything. I really like this article about guestworkers and the agricultural occupation.

http://www.cis.org/topics/guestworkers.html
Excerpt: "But most agricultural economists agree that American agriculture could survive, indeed thrive, without either illegal workers or captive guest workers. Indeed, the artificial inflation of the low-skilled agricultural labor market has encouraged farmers to plant more labor-intensive crops and has retarded the technological progress of American agriculture. "

http://ncciamerica.org/index.htm
http://latinoamericans.org/future_lair.htm

Furthermore, the Dept of Labor and Statistics has some good info too. For example, in 1980 the average meatpacker made $19 an hour. Today, they make nine dollars, or less. Yet, pro-illegal activists would argue that the price of meat should have gone down because of cheap labor, right? Wrong. It has gone up.

I do not hate them..but here are some things I do not like.
11 million walked in a demonstration waving flags of their home countries. THEN GO HOME! You violated a law that every country has "You must enter here legally" but oh no not these immigrants they are above the law and heaven forbid we even think of making then obey they laws because that would be "racist and prejudiced". If you wanna march with a foreign flag and publicly disrespect our laws then go home..make you own country a better place to live instead of running away and then you can do things your way. It is extreme arrogance and disrespect to break into someones home and then demand they conform to your own personal ideals.

and Dr. Brian if you have ever locked your door then you are guilty of what you condemn..that would be retaining control of the entry/exit to your home and you sound like you are against that..dunno maybe I am confused

I don't hate illegal immigrants, I hate their actions and their illegal presence here. The reason I am angry is that we have laws in place to come here legally, and as a country we have the right to decide who comes in and in what numbers.

Millions of people have decided to sneak into the country, either by running across the border and evading authorities, or by overstaying a temporary visa. The people that come across the border undergo no background checks, no health screening, no checks to see if they are bringing in foreign plant or animals, and no inspection of any kind. When legal citizens enter the country they must go through a thorough screening process. We have no idea how many terrorist or other violent criminals are coming here.

In adition, people are coming here illegally in such huge numbers that they are completely changing the country. Most are uneducated, speak a foreign language, have little to no skills, and have more children than Americans that they cannot support.

Once people are here illegally all of their children born here become automatic citizens and entitles them to bring in all their relatives, most of which are uneducated and are a net burden to society. They also get "free" education, housing, health care, services in their language, and access to almost all public benefits.

As a result of this, American children find themselves in overcrowded clasrooms with people that have no education and can't even speak english, and have a completely different culture and mentality. Many hospitals have also had to close because they have to treat everyone and people are bringing in diseases exterminated in the US years ago and have many health problems that are very expensive to treat. US citizens then have long lines, worse service, and a lower quality of care because the hospitals are overwhelmed. Many people here illegally are involved in violent crimes such as the many gangs that come with illegal aliens, and the gang tast forces, extra police, translators, court system, jails, etc are all being overwhlemed. Their sheer number also hurts our environment, especially in areas where water is scarce.

Another problem is that so many come from certain areas and stick together that they create what amounts to colonies of their country in the US. Many areas that 30 years ago were nice areas have been transformed to unrecognizable foreign areas. In addition, representation is done according to population, so because of their number people are elected to congress to fight for their interests and not the US interests. There are also very agressive illegal alien activist that want to bring in as many people as possible to undermine that culutre and values of the US. Look at this link as an example.

They also take away jobs from Americans. We have a lot of uneducated, low skilled Americans that are on welfare and would be willing to work, but employers prefer to hire illegal aliens because they don't have all the paperwork and taxes involved in hiring Americans. Americans still make up the majority of workers in the areas dominated by illegal aliens. They will do the work, but not at the prices employers are used to paying. Having illegal aliens here also removes any incentive to automate a number of processes. There was an episode of modern marvels on harvesting you should watch.

Lou Dobbs also has a number of segments about how illegal aliens are hurting Americans, including things like depressed wages and id theft.

People are dumb, they think they are taking their jobs but no one wants the jobs they do anyway. It is a politcal wedge issue that has come up to disrupt the 2006 elections. Illegal immigrants are needed in this country because they work for lower wages than are legal and allow people to make moeny, and they do not object to these wages so I do not believe it is a terrible thing. The one thing that is bad for them is that they have no real job stability and at any time could be unemployed.

Hate the sin, love the sinner ... I don't hate anybody, illegal or otherwise ... but it is a fact that they are here illegally, which means they have already KNOWINGLY broken the law of the land ... there really is no way around that ... no matter what way you look at it! Now when it comes to hating ... the greedy businesses who want to make more profit with scant regard for either the illegals they hire or the American tax payer ... I don't hate them either, but my God do I think they're a despicable bunch ....

What's wrong with standing against a group of people who feel they can come here illegally and break our laws? These people are nothing more than criminals. They come here breaking our laws and then break several additional laws to remain here and don't care at all about the problems they may be causing for someone else, especially those whose ID's SS#'s, etc they are using. A CRIMINAL is a CRIMINAL no matter how you look at it. And an ILLEGAL is still an ILLEGAL. If someone wants to be here then they can follow the law to be here like others have.

I am an American and am writing with Hispanic immigrants in mind. I do NOT hate illegal immigrants! I have a lot of respect for them. They are willing to take enormous risks to come here, they work long hours at jobs no American wants to do, they save their money to bring their relatives over. They display an excellent work ethic, they have strong family ties, they know how to save money, they make good citizens. There's a lot more to be said in their behalf than for many native-born Americans. citizens.

People your directing your anger in the wrong place. It is the good ole boys in Washington that needed money from big business to get elected, there have been illegals coming into the country for a real long time to be used as modern day slaves for business. The big money gets you elected, you have to pay those business people back with passing laws that help them make more money. Wake up people.
