If you are making macaroni salad, then leave out the Tuna because that makes something else. I make macaroni salad with a couple of sticks of finely chopped celery, a couple of hard boiled eggs, a 'light' mayo, a touch of stone ground mustard and, if I really want a zing, I'll use just a dash of basalmic vinegar... and, of course, salt and pepper to taste. If you still need a crunch you can toss in a dash of Bacos or equivalent.

Tuna and onion are yummy in a macaroni salad! Although I prefer penne to macaroni- gives it more bite=) But then again, my salad wouldn't be a "macaroni" salad... lol

The macaroni salads I've had have had either both eggs and tuna, or just the tuna, I think.

Adding a can of tuna would make it "Tuna" salad - now wouldn't it? Whatever, ya' can just about put anything, added to macaroni, and call it a "macaroni salad", including tuna! I know that's confusing - but let me explain: We aren't just speaking of "Macaroni" - what we're actually speaking of is a "salad" - am I correct? "Salad" refers to a blended food item— often meat, seafood or eggs blended with mayonnaise, finely chopped vegetables and seasonings— which can be served as part of meal, or as a meal itself. In answer to your question: "Yes, you can put hard boiled eggs in macaroni salad!" Okay - so we have "greens" and "whatever" and we call it a "salad" - so there ya' have it! Enjoy!

Servings:
10 (change)
INGREDIENTS:
* 1 (16 ounce) package macaroni
* 2 (6 ounce) cans tuna, drained
* 1/4 cup mayonnaise
* salt and pepper to taste
* garlic powder to taste
* 1 pinch dried oregano
* 1 onion, finely chopped
DIRECTIONS:
1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add macaroni and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain and cool under running water.
2. Mix both cans of tuna into the cooled pasta. Add the mayonnaise. Use more or less to your taste. You want just enough to get the flavor into the salad, but not enough to see the white of the mayonnaise on the noodles. Stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano and onion.
