Given that this will probably be the biggest, most destructive global conflict than Man has ever seen, which team should I bet on?

America is so far past china's military it doesn't matter how many people their army has. Most of their population lives in urban areas so it would be easy to take masses of the out in bombing raids, not to mention there are key dams that if blown would send their country into chaos. China could never make it over here with their military, and if they did most of Americans owns guns,China would only respond to us with a nuclear weapons because wining a conventional war is out of the question for them. Also they would starve half way through the fight.

Well, there are alot of things I love about the chinese, but I would have to say that the US would pull ahead in that kind of conflict. I don't see a conventional war being fought in that case, probably turn to nuclear or some other type of weapon systems. Mass civilian casualties could be expected on both sides. But the size of the United State's nuclear arsenal is second to none; however, don't assume that China would not launch a nuclear salvo at the US either, gotta think about not only their ICBMs (inter-continental ballistic missles), but the submarines that they could have waiting out in the ocean that carry nuclear tipped weapons. I seriously don't see a "winner" in that kind of war - there would be ALOT of deaths on both sides, probably worse than any war in History. I also think that if the US and China happened to delcare war on each other, it would not be just the two countries, there would DEFINATLY be more involved. It'd be a World War. Einstien said " I know not with what weapons world war III will be fought , but I know world war IV will be fought with sticks and stones" and I think that general statement applies to your question. I hope the United states and China can stay friends, I also hope that the world's opinion of the US softens, I know that the world doesnt see America as such a grand country right now, but I hope that can change. : )

The United States. It is likely to have the support of a number of European powers, Japan,South Korea and Russia. China in such a situation would lose. It has a vulnerable coast (close to a hostile Taiwan and Japan) and would be quickly cut off from the natural resources it needs to fight any war. Ultimately however backed into a corner China would go nuclear and there would be no winners.

I don't want them to fight. Nor do the current leaders of the two countries want to.
There would be no point in betting on the outcome because you would not be around to collect or enjoy your winnings.
Obviously US culture has more in common with those of us who live in Britain than that of China. However, there is much to admire in China's long history.
China had a dreadful time in the twentieth century and everyone would wish her people future peace and prosperity. However both China and the US urgently need to find ways of promoting their prosperity which are compatible with the welfare of the world environment, particularly in relation to global warming.

First off it is North Korea we Americans have to worry about the whole missile thing being launched over here. Second America will win due to the fact China would not, because Americans will stop their nuclear bombs before they hit and we will just retaliate and blow them off the map. but if by chance they try to attack on our land. Oh wait our naval military will take care of them way before they see the coast of Hawaii along with our Air Force too.

China alone cannot beat USA... China may hav some millions soldiers more then US, but US hav more than 900 nuclear warheads which 18 times greater then nuclear stock of China.
But i dont want US to win cuz US will consider itself a the king...and this may incr. hatred towards US nation....and China dont want these people to win... i dislike communists ideology

China because it has LARGER armed forces and the Chinese dont mess around.Now that China will(maybe) soon be the new superpower i think they could rule the world which will mean communism will rule the world and that will be a disaster but i dont think the US will take a back seat.

Usa..if china ever attacked us then US would bomb chinas unstable dam, flooding the nation and killing nearly a billion people..its not even a conflict its a massacre
and yes there is a big dam..i dont know the name but one bomb and bam...
