After we build this Giant wall between mexico and the US, we should then build a giant wall between Canada and the US because, and i know it's hard to believe, but immigrants come through those borders too, we should also biuld a big wall around the pacivic, carebian, and atlantic so immigrants don't come in through there either. Funny how immigrants come from many different races and countries but mexicans are the only scapegoat, i think it's a race issue.

I live in Arizona where over 1 million ( yup that's NO typo ) Mexicans attempt to come into this country every year. They don't do it with-in the laws of this country but side step them and "pass" to the front of the line instead of waiting their turn. They won't stop coming and the ONLY solution I can see working is a big wall to stop them. Now if on the other hand we had over 1 million Canadians crossing the border I'd go for a wall up there too but we don't now do we? I'm so tried of Mexicans playing the race card to the hilt when we have a serious problem that needs dealing with. On a final note, this country was born of immigrants and is a huge melting pot of people. Not one group of these people have chosen to separate themselves so much as to march the streets carrying a flag that had a foreign countries markings on it. Do Mexicans REALLY want to come here to live?/ Or do the just come here for the money and not to become an American?

You are exactly right. It is definitely a race issue. There is a fear that many have of being put in situations they are uncomfortable with. Most people don't like to feel like the minority. White people in particular are usually not used to this position. Therefore, when they go to the grocery store or gas station and the majority of the people speak a different language and have a different skin color they immediately feel uncomfortable which is easier to explain as incovenienced. Further, if the store clerk or salesperson does something rude or culturally stereotypical, they are likely to remember this. This becomes their framework for describling all members of this race because of their limited exposure to them and cultural biases. This ends in statements like, "this is America", "why cant they just learn English", "none of those people work", "they're all rude, just look at how they drive or how loud they play their music", and so forth.

Building a wall will only make those individuals take greater risks, increase mortality rates among children and women attempting to cross, and increase creativity in terms of finding ways into this country. I would be willing to bet it has no significant effect on the number of illegal immigrants in this country.

A wall will never be built separating the US and Canada. Our friends from the North are of a different caliber of people!
If the issues with mexico is a race card, then its because of the illegals that are playing it not the US!
This whole issue is NOT about immigrants but, ILLEGAL! What part of that equation do you not understand?

There are two very good reasons why Mexicans are the main focus of the immigration debate:

1) 70% of illegals are from Mexico.

2) The arrogant marching through our streets by illegals carrying Mexican flags.

Mexicans made the debate about themselves...we didn't do it to them.

I understand your point. Our sovereignity should not be a license to bash, bash, bash one ethnic group, which is what is obvious in this category. Regardless of the visibility of any ethnic group of immigrants, legal or illegal, there is simply no good way to accept those who say it's justified because the mexicans are lawbreakers.

In these emotional issues one can pick out the hatred happening in cyberspace. Treating people like human beings will not negate that they must be dealt with, but it should be accurate in that they are most certainly NOT the only group. No justification whatsoever.

You are right about one thing. There are many immigrants from other countries BUT 70% of them are from Mexico and those tend to be very disrespectful of the U.S. and the people here, not to mention they are stupid enough to march in AMERICAN streets waving their buzzard rag flag, which should not be allowed. They hurt their cause much more than they helped it. They woke people up when they did that. Arrogance and stupidity is a bad combination, one that is common among them.

Well, the only problem with immigrants from Mexican is they are doing it all illegally. The U.S. has laws you know, and immigrants from Canada or Africa or Asia they do it right!

It is a race issue, because Mexicans by far are the ones raping the system. A wall is not the answer.

I think you're brain dead.

Canada unlike Mexico actively patrols it's borders. It's not just Mexicans crossing the Mexican border. Also by building the wall we killing off a lot of the drug routes into this country.
