Two soldiers were kidnapped and Israel marches into Libanon. Israelis kill a 10 member family besides others and continue bombing Beirut and Gaza.
In the meantime everyone is busy that Northkorea and Iran might do another missile test. We don't want war, but yesterday might have been the day that another one was started.
And it wasn't commited by some "bandit country" but it was us who did it. Why does nobody of the "western world" stands up and tells Israel that there is something going the really bad way.

Pls. I know that many people here would like to talk about the conflict that lays behind that situation and goes on for over 50 years now. I don't!
I simply recall the fact that one country attacks another souveran country because they are pissed...besides terrorists, false and true religions, occopied lands, bombs in Teheran, misplaced settlers. I see that on tv every day.. but is REVENGE something that is appropriate for a mass of people that grew so powerful. I see many posts that take revenge into account. In my opinion this simple explanation is to flat and is moreover dangerous and brings furthermore no evolution to resolve the root of the problem. Pls. give me more..

I don't let count SELF-DEFENSE because there were no lebanese troups crossing the Israel border. I can somehow understand the Israelis.. reallypissed because of too much, too bad Hisbollah guys around there border. Ok, now there is war. So what about invading Libanon?

But the response it so harsh.. isn't that very dangerous what happens there. Lebanon tries to turn more west.. Syria still holds big influence, all efforts to bann Syria from this corner of middle east are gone now. more answ, pls.

Lebanon allows Hezbollah terrorists to operate freely in the southern part of the country which they then fire rockets into southern Israel. Any country that allows terrorists to operate freely can except attack if there neighbor wants to defend themselves.
Plus Israel occupied a security zone in southern Lebanon until 2000 which they withdrew due to peace deals. But Hezbollah still fired rockets into Israel border towns which was just as big of a factor as the kidnapping of two soldiers.
I'm sure any country would invade if they were threatened by a neighboring country.

The reason nobody stands up in the western world is because this has been going on for numerous years. The western world has tried to work peace plans, but they always fail because these countries are so into their religon that they kill each other of a so called piece of land. Every country in that area hates Israel so they are in a bad spot. Basically, their religon is killing themselves. There is nothing the western world can do except nuke that area and then say everything is fine. This method of course is not a good one.

World War 3 will break out eventually. But as far as Israel they are tired of being trampled on and they are retaliating and I don't blame them. If different people kept on pushing you around, threatening you and spitting in your face. It may take a while but you would get tired of it. And it is not like Lebanon did not have a warning to stop. Israel said stop or we are going to take action. I would have took action a long time ago and it would not have been very pretty ( I would blow them into nothing).

The United States should speak out against the heavy handed way in which Israel has retaliated against Lebanon. As a world leader it is a duty to speak out.

By the way, regarding the previous answer, anyone is free to post their opinion, that's freedom. And I don't consider my knowledge limited, since I am a historian, and I agree with the asker's views, as does everybode outside the US and Israel. Are we all wrong?

Because Israel has a right to self defense. If the Palestinians want this to stop all they have to do is stop attacking Israel.

Israel should be ashamed of it's self for going after kidnappers, terrorists and states that call for it's destruction. Why can't the Israeli's just accept their destruction and leave everyone alone?

Coz in the holy bible Israel will always win and forever they maintain that as God told him all his enemies will come to his feet at a defeat.
Better we trust in God than try to think of Zionism but rely on Gods unfailling promises for they are true to us as to Israel.
