Anyone can give blood but they will ask that you don't if you have had a questionable blood work issue, a tattoo or a time when you have needed a transfusion within a year. They ask that you are disease free but will test all blood before it is donated. steph

for blood donations you should not be suffering from any infectious diseases or any sexual transmitted diseases and umust also know ur blood group if u r a O+ then you can donate blood to anyone and if A+ can obtain blood from anyone & u can donate blood to only same blood category if u r B+ then u can only donate blood to b group people

1. History of hepatitis.
2. Currently taking hypertension medication.
3. Blood pressure reading of less than 120/80.
4. Under 18 years old.
5. Weight less than 110 pounds.

don't know about the rest of the world, but in australia you have to be 18+, under some age (i think 70? dunno), not have lived in the UK recently/for a long time ('cause of mad cow), not be pregnant, and i think they have a thing about tattoos too.... there's probably other stuff too but i don't know about it
oh yeah and the obvious not being sick or having STDs
