Evil is a negative, like the space in an empty cup. Evil is a void where something else should be, like darkness that is illuminated by light. What you refer to as "evil" is ignorance. Ignorance is a natural consequence of being human. Through reincarnation we acquire enlightenment and gradually realize our divine potential.
Judaism recognizes "Satan" as an angel who performs a function that's sanctioned by 'God'. From a Judaism website:

Hermann Hesse wrote quite a bit on this theme (i.e., a God of both good and evil, which Hesse calls "Abraxis"), most memorably in the novel Demian*--you might enjoy checking it out.
My personal thinking is that if a God were to exist, it must not interfere with the everyday workings of the universe--either because it isn't omnipotent or because it chooses not to interfere with free will. The idea of a God that wound up the universe and then let it run, leaving it to us, seems pretty harmless and inoffensive to me (and to Stephen Hawking, apparently**, since we've no way of knowing anything that preceded the Big Bang)...

God exists everywhere, but in the same way a person has a front side and a back side, similarly irreligion or evil resides at the back of the Lord. When you ignore someone you turn your back to him, similarly IGNORance of our relationship with God is the cause of all evil. That's how God and evil coexist. God is the source of everything. But we cannot blame Him for the evil things happening. The cause of darkness is the absense of the sunlight. But can we blame the sun if we prefer to stay in darkness?

It is the yin-yang, the 69, the "as above, so below" phenomenon. They are all part of the same.
However, one should consider that "God" would transcend any label of good or evil. Those are labels humans have devised to categorize behavior; an animal who kills for food is not considered evil. But most would argue that the tiger who has gained a liking for human flesh and went out of its way to eat humans would run the risk as being labeled evil. Is this appropriate?
Evil and good are labels which transform over time and different cultures. Is human sacrifice good or evil? It will depend upon who you ask and when in history the question is posed.

God is not everywhere. However, God has control over everything. The Bible does not say God is everywhere. That is just something you hear people say - but what they really mean is God has control over everything. Also, evil only exists in the minds of humans. If God gave us free will, you would expect that God would not be present in that area of our free will contemplating evil.

God is everywhere. Evil is too. If God eliminated all evil, there will not be a choice for us to choose. God wants us to have freedom. To choose. But I'm sad to say, many of the non christians keeps cursing the christians... I hope you can be saved. God loves you and so do i. Because God is love. You and i were placed in this world to make a differnce. I'm now desperately trying to spread the chrisitian message across cos i know whats gonna happen in the end times... pardon me, but you are a lost person... without Jesus, all is lost... You can ignore this and just hate me or you can take this prayer and pray:
Dear Lord, I'm sorry for all the sins that i did... I believe in you. That you came to die and wash away my sins... I know you love me. And care for me... "To you i still hold on..."
Even when i walk through the valley of shadow of death, i will fear no evil... For you are with me... Psalm 23
God knew you and loved you even before your life begun.

I believe God is evil. The ten commandment s or as I call them the ten commandoments says it all. You shall not worship any other God but him??? Give me a break. That should not be a sin. God is admitting there are other Gods and you are breaking a commandoment if you do not worship him as your only God. Screw that. The Arch Angel of white light, Lucifer questioned God and in turn God banished him from heaven. Then Samiel another Arch angel decended of his own free will because God does NOT believe in free will. I think taking a person's free will makes them just as evil as everyone else.

God is NOT everywhere literally speaking. Not in the physical sense, anyway. You wouldn't be able to step out of the house- because you would crash right into God. As for evil...that exists and originates in the minds of men.

In the very same places that God exists. But it's people who make the conscious decision to do good or bad. When terrible things happen I'd rather point the finger at the very people who lack a sense of responsibility in the world rather than a wonderful God who made us and the beautiful world we live in.

Well, those who believe God is here there and everywhere also believe Satan is here there and everywhere and both God and Satan are fighting for the souls of humans. Its a religous/philosphical question. Hard to discuss a question like this with rationalized reasoning.
