What should a man do if his wife ask him to baby seat so that she can followup some isseus down town? Is it proper for a father to forfeit going to work so that he baby seat their baby?

it depends on where you work and what she is going to do. You an look for someone elsle whome you trust with your baby, or take the baby to kinderggatens. Its very rediculous to lose your job for such kind of a reason which has very many options. Lose your job for very crucial reasons. Suppose you are fired and maybe you are the sole bread winner, what will your baby feed on including your wife.

Depends on what is meant by "issued downtown"...was it an arrest (in than case, maybe the behavior that lead to it is the real issue) or a getting nails done, which is should never be a reason for a man to take off work to babysit his child.
Another thing to consider is who is the breadwinner of the family? Are/Is there anyone esle that can be called for a favor or for money (that you trust with your child) to babysit in an emergency situation.
I am a single parent and was an Executive Assistant until my boss wrote me up for missing work, not what my duties were, but for duties of another co-worker than I was covering for at the last minute, for taking my son to the ER after my son's school called and I was told I should always make back up arrangements. Life is harsh; be prepared.

You really feel like you're "forfeiting" going to work when u are asked to babysit ur child? There's nothing wrong at all with that...in fact, as far as I'm concerned, it takes a REAL man to be willing to stay home from work to keep his child if his wife needs him to.......

Your not really baby sitting it is your child to its not just the mothers responsibilitie.When child is sick who takes off work to stay with them mom,When baby has to go to dr mom takes them so daddys need to step up and help too

u used the words baby sit u can't baby sit your own child you call someone in for that to father your own child it's called parenting both have a VERY speical role and responsibility to the child

It shouldn't even be an issue, we are talking about the baby's father. Parents make sacrifices everyday for their children, that's what you do when you are a parent.

It's called parenting at it is completely appropriate to miss work to look after your child. You can find another job, that child is YOUR child for life.
