Before Jesus there was no Christianity. Christianity is the belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior. There were no Christians before. However there was Judaism, which is the worship of God the father. The Jews practiced Judaism. Jesus came for the people who did not know God, he came to save the unsaved. He came that through him everyone, not only the Jews could find salvation.

Firstly, before Christ Jesus there were no Christians. Christians are around because they are followers of Christ.

The first Christians were made up of jewish followers, but anyone from any culture can become a Christian as Christianity is not limited to one group of people.

Both groups Jews/Christians worship God the creator Yaweh/Jehovah there was never any God before Him.

The main difference is Christians and the Jewish converts worship God the creator in the name of Jesus whereas Orthodox Jews do not as they are still waiting for the Messiah.

Jesus stands between God and man as Jesus the Messiah because He fulfilled Gods criteria/mission/purpose for Jesus to take on all the sins of the world to save us. So this is why we pray in the name of Jesus.

Before Jesus, Christians didn't worship anyone. The word "Christian" didn't come around until after Jesus' time on Earth.

Prior to that, however, the Jews worshipped God and the Commandments handed to them by Moses and the prophets.

The name of the God they worshiped then and now is Jehovah. He named himself, and it can be found at Psalms 83 verse 18 and Isaiah 43:10-12. Some of the newer bibles have removed the Holy name, especially the ones you get from different religions. Those sold at book stores and so forth usually show God's name as Jehovah. The Catholics prefer to call him Yahweh, but the name is the same.
Jehovah created Jesus in the heavens, and together they created everything else.
Jesus created Christianity when he told Peter, 'Upon this rock I will build my church'

There are so many stupid answers on this page. The simple answer is this. There was no such thing as Christians before Jesus died. The first Christians were his friends and followers who saw what happened to Jesus and were witness to his works. Christianity means a follower of Jesus the Christ. There was no Christian religion before him and I wish there wasn't one now.

Christianity, as a religeon, didn't exist until well after Jesus' time, and was based pretty much entirely on his teachings...which were an interpretation of Judaism - the religion of the Jews (don't forget that Jesus was Jewish). What Christians know as the "Old Testamant" is, mostly, an edited and slightly mutated version of the Jewish Torah, and it is surmised that the Torah is what J.C. was teaching from.

Before Jesus was known as the Lord and Savior, the "Christians" were Jewish. Jesus was known as the King of the Jews until his own people crucified him. So no, Christianity was not a religion before Jesus Christ was born.

Before Jesus, they worshiped "I AM". The term Christianity began with the followers of "Jesus, The Christ". Most were Jewish or Pagan Greeks before Him but there is only One God of the Universe and He is "I AM" - "Jehovah" He is a spiritual being of one person in the unity of God, the Father, Jesus the Son and The Holy Spirit who came down to Earth with the Assention of Jesus the Son into Heaven on His Resurrection. Regardless of what people call God or what denomination the name is, there is but ONE TRUE GOD. He is Lord and Father of all mankind and reunited their sinful state with himself thru the death and resurrection of his son, Jesus Christ because we could not keep his laws ourselves. Hope this helps.

God and still do.

God was who they prayed to. He sent his son Jesus to Earth that he had already made and people worshipped him. When people worshipped Jesust they knew that he was the son of God and there prayers had been answered.

Jesus is the way to God. The sermons you hear shouldn't all be related to Jesus because it is God who gave him the power and is his father.

Oh, the Old testament in the bible refers to God. The new testament tells the story of Jesus on Earth & God's return.
