i have become really close to someone over msn
we laugh and talk together and talk nearly all the time till late too
but the problem is he prefers to stay single and i like him more
but i think he likes mee too but how could i know
i dont wanna ask him but how could i find out by talkin over msn

the problem with msn is that you can only take words literally
when you meet up in person, only then can you tell the genuinity of your relationship by body language. it may be very clear whether he likes you or not just by evaluating his body language
look out for his shoulders pointing at you. his eye movement when answering your questions. whether he holds your hand. these are natural things that can tell whether he is likes you

If he has said he prefers to be single then hey gues what ! he prefers to be single...... why is it that men are told to listen and adhere to what they are told by women but when a woman wants to go further and is told no, everyone advises to keep trying !!!! DOUBLE STANDARDS MUCH
No means NO !!!!! whether male or female !!!
My advice is keep it as friends and if he wants more then he will ask you.

Just ask him out for goodness sake... You don't have to have a full-on relationship, just go out as friends and if you are wanting sex, then that is good too...
If you try and make it into a relationship, you could end up losing a friend...

first thing is: Reltionships that begun through internet are the worst relationships to be in
Second thing: You should ask if he wants to meet up for lunch or something and maybe get to know each other PERSONALLY

I have been in your situation before.
What I did was, just told him what I felt. It worked although it took some time for him to tell me that he liked me too.
