I'm bringing my 90 year-old grandpa to see the WWII war monument in Washington DC and we're looking for a convenient hotel to stay. Either one really close to the subway, or close to the Mall itself.

Check out Hotel Harrington- it's at 11th and Pennsylvania NW, about 4 blocks from the White House, and a couple blocks from the nearest Metro stop. It's in the buisness part of town, so there's not a whole lot to do there, although you're directly above a couple restaraunts, near ESPNZone, and about 4 or 5 blocks from the National History museum. The metro is easy to use during the day, but after about 8 pm it'll probably be quicker (and not much more expensive at all) to take a cab.

I'm including the website for the hotel, as well as the Metro website so you can see how DC is laid out. Harrington is closest to Metro Center.

What's your budget? I think everyone has given some great inputs.

If you have a little to splurge I would stay at the Willard. It's the closest hotel to the Washington Monument and also right around the corner from the White House.

If your grandpa is 90 years old, I would try to find a place to stay that is relaxing. And definitely get a cab no matter where you are staying! Or join a tour that will DRIVE you everywhere!

Good luck and hope you and your grandpa have fun in DC.

someone once sniped a billboard, an outside commercial, which became an ad for some not basic liquor, with the words 'liquid panty remover'. that asserts each and everything. If she'll do issues even as she beverages it truly is plausible it loosens her inhibitions adequate that the guy receives her pants off, or she passes out and he does stuff to her even as she's subconscious. purely search for suggestion from from her, tell her you're fearful, and tell her to be careful no longer to drink too a lot, probably tell her that you're fearful about it. it truly is all you should do and desire she doesn't get in difficulty. even as she receives decrease back, in case you pick you could ask her how became the celebration yet do no longer, lower than any circumstances, ask her some thing about what occurred. you do not pick to attraction to close one way or the different except she volunteers it. to tutor this female you care about her (and believe her), you provide her the convenience of the doubt, presume that she did not do some thing and also you act as if no longer some thing occurred.

Your grandfather and you will love the Hotel Washington.
http://www.hotelwashington.com/
It's a beautiful, historic hotel, 2 blocks from the mall, and around the corner from the White House. They have a rooftop restaurant (you can go only for a drink, coffee, etc.) that has the best view of Washington and isn't expensive
It's across from the Treasury, where they make our money (they have a daily tour M-F.
Seriously, you and your sweet old grandpa (bless his 90 year old self) will love it there!

I've stayed numerous times at the Marriott at Metro Center. The Metro Center station is just outside the hotel at the end of the block at G and 12th. From the subway you can get just about anywhere in DC proper, if not, the metro will get you close and then take one of the bazillion cabs that are in town. BTW... I've seen the WWII Memorial, it is magnificent. I hope the two of you enjoy it.
