To get rid of the odor you need to use Natures Miracle which you can buy at the pet store. Also get a litter that is made for kittens. I would confine the kitten until it learns to use the box. Make sure the litter box is cleaned daily.

Good luck!

Once a cat pee's somewhere it will keep going there so you need to make sure really give it a good clean with a purpose made stain remover from a pet shop, this should get rid of the odour. Also you may want to sprinkle some vinegar or lemon juice around the area afterwards as cats hate it. If it doesn't work you may have to cut the piece of carpet that has been pee'd on and re carpet that area or put down a rug. When I got my kitten, my older cat started playing up and began peeing by my front door even though she's an outdoor cat, my vet said some cat's do this as a behavioural thing when they're pissed off about something or stressed out (so don't be too harsh on the kitty, it will just make things worse) the only thing that worked was re-carpeting the area and then as she likes the soft new carpet and sleeps there, she doesn't pee there anymore.
oh, also if you happen to have a black light lying around, (as one does) cat's urine glows under it so you can tell if your cat has pissed rather then by going by the smell!

ok, the only spray i have found that actually works, and i swear by it, is called "Urine Gone". Most larger pet supply shops carry this product i.e. petsmart, petco etc. now toget your cat to stop peeing outside of the litter box you can do THREE things.
1.a kittens mother will stimulate the poo and pee areas by licking or nuzzling down there, this gives the kitten a calming and comforting experience going. your role will be to mimick this by using a warm moist paper towel or rag and softly wiping the area while the kitten is in the box. keep it still dont let it run out, be the boss until it finally goes. this will help it feel more at home in the box.
2.try to use a cover for the tray, put a card board box with an opening over it. it sounds odd but cats like their prvacy and sometimes to protest what they dont like the will pee or poo outside of the tray.
3.clean the tray as often as twice a day. some cats are much more particular about their bathroom area. use hard clumping litter so as not to leave behind to much residual dirty litter. even a little wet stuff left over can breed a bacteria that cats find very offensive.
hope it helps, good luck.

Do you clean the tray every time he uses it? Some cats are fussy!!! To get the pong off your carpet use a cupfull of Ariel biological washpowder thoroughly dissolved in about 3 pints of hot water. Scrub the carpet with this wherever he has anointed it, and let it dry. You may have to do it more than once. Meanwhile, from vet or petshop, you can buy little bottles of training fluid, which you sprinkle on the area where weeing is allowed. They like the smell, and use that place- hopefully. Perhaps a change of catlitter brand?? I have a cat who will only use the wood-pellet type litter, the others are ok with the Fullers earth one. Best of luck!

hi i have 2 female cats and i had the same problem when they were kittens. the best way to stop your cat from peeing on the carpet is to put pepper down and get yourself some shaws essentials natural repellent. To remove the urine from your carpet is to get yourself some simple solutions cat spray and urine stain and odour remover from any good pet store. Make sure you don,t hit your cat as they get scared and forget why you are hitting them. instead make sure that when they pee on your carpet just say in a strong toned voice bad cat or what ever you want and put the cat in the litter tray. You may also find that if you have a male cat that they are doing this allot, if this is the case the only way to get this matter sorted once and for all is to have him done. This may stop him spraying your carpet as the cat thinks he is marking your home so other male cats know that its his place. hope this help you

Shampoo your carpet, there most likely is an ordor there either from a previous pet or something that someone tracked in from outside that is triggering the kitten's need to wee there. My family has had cats off and on for the last 35 years.

Also have the kitten checked for any urinary tract and kidney infections. Some people don't think they can get them at this age but some problems can be inherited.

Try moving the litter tray to the place he is using for a toilet maybe he feels safer there.
If the litter tray is not cleanish our cats refuse to go so we have to clean it at least twice a day.
Soda water and vinegar are supposed to be good home cleaners for odours or any supermarket/pet shop or even eBay will also sell sprays you can use.
Also if the carpet smells he may think its his toilet rip it up and get some wooden flooring down any accidents are cleaned up quickly.

1st difficulty is this, he replaced into taken remote from mom too quickly. even as a kitten is taken away earlier say about 12 weeks of age, they have a tendency to have extra behavioral themes like peeing, biting and different issues. What i'd do is positioned him in a cord canines kennel which will fit him, a small clutter container, food and water and in no way some thing else. Then fill the container with Cat entice clutter and he will be compelled to apply the container. positioned him in the container and educate him a thanks to scratch such as his paws, his mom ought to educate him this. He has no momma and also try to be the surrogate. Cats gained't pee/poop the position they sleep or devour. It gained't take lengthy to coach him, yet should be executed. that's not cruel and he receives the image. he's normally experienced with the help of Monday. you also ought to freshen up the pee with an enzyme purifier like Nature's Miracle, in case you do not get that smell out, he will shop making use of it. good success!

Pick kitty up - and - after a few severe words - put kitty in her litter tray.. spray the carpet with Dettox - Kitty won't go there again..... Orange peal can be used too but only to stop cats from digging up and peeing/pooping in your garden. A lot of patience is needed - good luck and have fun with Kitty......
