I Think to be mates only or sexual partners depends on the tradition of the society where this takes places, the age and non-sexual component of the interest of the partners, But the sexual attraction is the natural force, when even when each do not openly speak, still the feeling independntly exists. At the same time strong and dominant traditions like the oriental culture on the style of life and the exposer to current liberal civilization mater on the descision making

Yes, men and women can be best friends with no sex! I have had better male friends over the years than female, they are not so bitchy, dont always talk boring subjects (best lipsticks, handbags etc) and tell things from a different perspective

You can have loads of best Female friends... I only have 2 because i slept with the others and now they think i'm a cr#p mate and that i'm sh#t in bed!! but on the plus side i enjoyed myself and i now have 2 female friends that will stay as friends for a long time.
So i learned the hard way!!! lol ... ;o)
