It's all part of the process of learning. Just think of us all as children and you will understand. Kids scrap their knees, cut themselves, break things.... ...we're no different. We've just grown into large bodies and changed our damage to the world around us. But don't worry, we will slllllooooooowwwllllyyy evolve into more civilized creatures - it is our destiny as a creation. Just give it time and let the failures happen. Trying to stop the inevitable will only slow down fate and impede our growth.
If you believe we are on a path do not suggest that we travel backwards, because forward, although new and different, is still forward. The path was laid for a reason - travel it and learn.

Well let me think - Gee very hard question - I am seating trying to find an answer - let me see - OK, here are some.
We are not living in houses made of clay, We travel by vehicles that run on fuel combustion, we travel around the world within a few hours, we managed to go to out of space, we have TV - listen to some nice electronic music - ya we have electricity. We are even trying to challenge the environment and stop global warming by introducing less harm full technologies that do the same thing or even more. Oh - also we are moving out from this stupid GOD and religion concept because we are intelligent enough to identify the difference between a myth / fairy tale and reality. (Well some managed to identify Da Vinci code a pure fiction - Hurrah - But not the Bible - Makes me think)
Now, let me think, what started the war ?? Well as in the Bible, it is god who started war by ordering mass destroying of villages and communities - just because they were non believers and humans have been at war since then. I wonder whether god was influenced by the Human Intellect to order these mass destruction.

Actually, Bush is responsible for much of the wars, and is doing nothing to prevent global warming (his administration actually boasted about how they were going to do nothing to promote alternative fuels), which causes famine.
So it's hard to blame man's intellect for these problems, since Bush has none.

Man's intellect is a fine thing. It's man's selfishness and greed that are the source of virtually every ill and woe. Think about it for a moment. Every problem can be traced to selfishness or greed or a healthy combination of the two. Throw in a little (or a lot of) pride and you've got a real recipe for disaster.

And all this time I thought that God was taking care of all those things, not man. Doesn't God have the power to change the weather, to create good crops and food for people, to start or end wars? He certainly has a history of doing those kinds of things all through the Bible.
Come on, if you really believe in God you can't just give him credit for all the good things and not hold him responsible for the bad things that happen as well.

War is mainly caused by religion not intellect.
Famine is a natural phenomena.
Global warming is being questioned more and more by scientists and is now more usually referred to as "climate change". It is now being postulated more and more that natural forces are at work here and that mans influence is probably only a small part.
Intellect may help us to try and understand and even help some of these problems but it certainly had very nothing to do with them if at all.

I beleive it was Einstine who stated, and please, this quote is in contex, but not word for word, The problems of man today can not be fixed by the men of the same intellect that created them. But greed, self-indulgence and gultony are responsiable for the state of the human race. Someone mentioned religion, religion is not the problem, it is the men who practice this religion that is the problem.. If we looked at the native americans and took our cues from them maybe we would be in better shape. Also, and this is not meant to sound comunist, if we were to take care of only our basic needs and help to provide or insure that eveyone in our comunity had their basic needs fulfilled we would be in a better place.. But this is just theory and cannot be accomplished at this time.. Think of all the unnecessary things we need for survival.. At Times I think of us as a plague or virus on mother earth. We our a cancer that will eventually kill the earth or kill ourselves..

It was not man's intellect that got us into trouble. That is an oxymoron. Rather it has been man's ignorance. We are but animals on this everchanging planet. The earth will, when bored with us, get rid of us all.
