The few times I've been in Singapore a lot of the people seemed very impatient and inclined to grab anything they could get, especially if it doesn't cost anything, and regardless of other people's convenience. That is in public, at least. In private they are still competitive in conversation but more easy-going. Sorry to generalise but the country is so compact that there is a kind of standard "kiasu" behaviour as they call it.
