Wow do you really think what you did was stupid? I think it was honorable and shows you and everyone else what you are made of. In a split second you thought of her and not yourself. Although I am sorry you are hurt I am very proud of you and you should be too!

No, it was not stupid. You rescued her. You got injured, but she would likely have gotten a lot more injured or even died. Old people are more fragile than young. You did the right thing.
