Not World War III, but a high potential for a devastating regional conflict. Israel has attacked a sovereign but unstable nation in Lebanon. Not even the Israelis can think that the government of Lebanon orchestrated, or was even aware, of the initial border incident. The Israelis WANT to make this an international conflict. That is the only reasonable explanation for their actions. They will now draw Syria into the conflict, and, perhaps, even Iran based on the thinking that it is better to fight them now than later. They are in the process of creating an intolerable situation for the moderate countries such as Egypt. Their populations will demand action or the regimes will be threatened from within by extremist groups attracting the support of the broader population, The results could be a horrifying conflation throughout the area.
Israel better be careful about what it wishes for because it might get it.

The Israeli/Palestinian conflict has been going on for thousands of years, it is not new. What is new is the weapons available for the battles. What we are seeing is a simple border conflict, not a war. These people will never stop hating each other, it is a traditional game they play. That is what is really is, a game and nothing more. Unfortunately, there is always the media with its instantaneous communication capability to exacerbate the situation. When some one from one side or the other is killed, the media makes it look like the entire country pours into the streets in outrageous grief. In reality, there are no more mourners than any civil funeral in America on any week day. What is reported to us is what the cameras record. When the cameras are rolling, the people flock to for the chance to be seen on TV, but instead of smiling and waving, they lapse into their "out pouring of grief" they pull their hair, pound their chests, sob, cry and carry on like it is the end of the world. They cry out for revenge. It is all a great show and overstates the reality of the game. Both sides are guilty, but play the game quite well. Until someone cuts loose a serious missile attack, there is really little to worry about. This whole Middle East BS could be solved with a neutron bomb. It would kill every living thing, while leaving the physical infrastructure intact. Then the price of gasoline would come down. This game will not cause WWIII

people who say that Israel will weigh down Iran don't be conscious of what they are speaking approximately. iran is a defense force capability living house interior the middle East with an fairly good protection oriented defense force. SO them occurring the offense does no longer make sense because it does not greater healthful with their kit or coverage. I doubt Israel will attack Iran yet what they want t do is end frightening different countries with those air strikes. Israel has given Iraq, Syria and Iran valid motives to bypass to war with them. Israel needs to end pushing. I doubt China will become in touch besides the undeniable fact that if u . s . backs Israel i think Russia will replace into in touch. yet the two will via all different possibilities to stay away from international war 3.

MC Hummer's account of "you brought it on yourselves" is exactly the warped thinking that many Palestinian militants and radicals have. Instead of recognizing Israel and trying to co-exist, the mentality is that "we don't have to, and we don't wanna". They are practically praying that someone delivers a serious blow to Israel like the one MC described.
Wishing for death of thousands of civilians is just sad. I don't care who you are or what you believe in. Until you wise up and see that coexistence is the only solution (the other guy isn't going to be wiped off the map), peace will never be achieved.
As for WW III...
Nah, I'm convinced that the type of Middle East turmoil we're seeing is not going to set off the next World War. The Big 5 and the EU are not going to lay their butts on the line to go against another major player (U.S. or U.K. backing Israel, China or Russia backing Iran for example). Even though we are surrounded by issues with Iran and North Korea at the same time, diplomacy can still work. There's no proof that both of those countries are ready to fight when both are being provided incentive not to.
Even those that oppose military action and sanctions are coming around. A united, tough stance against these nuisances is beginning to materialize. Unless that falls apart, North Korea attacks, and Syria/Iran jump in it with Israel, a world war is far from reality...

Today's extreme Jihaads, are just like yesterdays Nazism. They believe in only their god, they believe in only their way of life. There cant be jewish or christian religions. They believe that they must destroy everything/everyone who does not follow under Allah's rules, because Allah wills it! This is why we have to stop the spead of these people.(all the Bin Ladens out there, the Hamas governments, Al Qauda in Iraq, have to put in North Korea as well)) If we don't make a stand, (we're the only country with balls anymore) your going to see all the middle east fall under the control of these extremist, and then whats next small European country's, Egypt, northern Africa, India, etc. They already control Syia, Iraq if we pull out, Palestinian territory, Iran, etc. By then, they would have had enough power/money for a nuclear bomb and the worlds really in for WW3. Countries such as us, and Israel need to stop these groups now.

The Israelis believe their own lie that they can do what they want with impunity.
I am NOT advocating violence against Israel when I say this, but if someone dropped a nuclear or chemical weapon on Tel Aviv tomorrow, I would bet more than half of citizens in non-muslim countries would say, "You brought it on yourselves," and that sentiment would NOT be motivated by anti-semitism, but rather by disgust for Israeli terrorism.
If Israel wants peace, they have to stop committing war crimes. All of this is on their heads when they started their illegal economic terrorism against the Palestinians after Hamas were freely and popularly elected. Hamas didn't do anything to bring this on.
It's just like the "Roadmap" of a few years ago; everybody forgets that it was the Israelis who broke it with an unprovoked assassination of Palestinian leaders who were observing the ceasefire.
