I like this story. But it is not a question, is it?
Let's not forget, when God made the world and filled it with people, plants and animals, he said that it was good. And by God's standard, good must have been perfect.
So the original world God made would have had no pain or suffering or death at all, at least until people started breaking God's rules.
God didn't create the pain, people did, through direct disobedience to God. God's rules were for our well being and happiness. Just as we have a rule requiring us to drive on the correct side of the dividing line on the highway. If we disobey that rule, people die.
Yet, even today, these same people who try to use that old argument about 'How could God allow pain' disobey rules all the time, doing the very thing that causes the pain they claim to criticize.
God also promised us a new heaven and a new earth, a place with no pain and no sorrow. And these people with their lame argument will miss out on the world they 'say' they want, because they really don't care about any of that, they just want to live their lives with no accountability. They want to break the rules and not feel bad about it.
SUCCESS!

Hello,
I believe God helps us regardless, but to be eternally saved you have to repent. If God doesn't care or love us, he wouldn't have come down from high above, to take our sins away.
He could have wiped out humanity and start over again, but God didn't.
Remember in the bible it talks about how all the suffering will come and stuff........
Remember God gave us free will, we decide what to do with it and then when we die, we will be judged on that.
I truly belieeve that God exist, i think he needs to speak to the right people. I am not saying that you are not one of the right people.
What about Satan, he is well in fact..some of the route of the problem, as far as i know Satan tempts people on bad things, but God also gave us the will to resisit the Satan Temptations.
There is a God, people have free will they decied what they want to do .

If there is indeed a "God" or some Superior Being then why did he put us here in the first place? Apparently we either go UP or we go DOWN dependent upon how we lived our mortal lives and He is sole judge and jury.
Seems to me that he put us here because he was up there in the big blue yonder, all alone since the year dot and consequently, bored out of his tree. So, to pass the time he made us, gave us warts and all and told us that if we dont worship and adore him then we all go to the big fire...forever and ever! We're just like a bowl of goldfish sitting upon the Big Man's telly and fairly soon he's going to get fed up with us and down the lavvy pan we'll go!

"First, the Bible says God is all-helpful, all-understanding, and a God of love, superb?...why did not he in basic terms damage the angels in the experience that they went "undesirable"?...The evil people in this international got here from God and the evil in this international is God's fault." it style of appears like a sturdy theory from a human attitude, would not it? in basic terms create each thing sturdy and get rid of the failings that are going to bypass undesirable. the project with this theory is that the simplicity of it rules out the aspects that inspire authentic love. The question is: If someone is raised in an ecosystem the position the purely project they recognize or understand is goodness and by no skill evil, then is their love somewhat actual, or is it only a manufactured from what may be considered "benevolent indoctrination"? It kinda jogs my memory of what the Soviet Union did of their public faculties. They truly drilled the beliefs of Communism into youthful minds and gave them no different options. those little ones grew as a lot as have self belief purely in Communism and its concepts. If God had destroyed evil beforehand mankind had ever experienced it, then it may have truly yielded an similar effect. we may in basic terms be a inhabitants of benevolent robots, with out theory why we are sturdy, or why we even exist. "And, interior the Bible, it says God is extreme about preventing devil and he's all-helpful, yet he has not destroyed devil yet, so both the Bible is pretend and God is corrupt and needs devil right here or he's a befuddled previous guy!" or you purely don't recognize what God has planned for devil. Why ought to God's moves revolve round your agenda? "and likewise, ppl say God gave us "free will", yet free will isn't synonymous to immortality." I fail to work out the way it really is plausible. Has everyone lived lengthy sufficient to verify that?

A nice story (I think I have heard it before) but it doesn't explain the suffering caused by natural disasters or by acts of evil (such as 9/11, which has some very disturbing facts surrounding it, by the way, which suggest that the real perpetrators were much closer to home than the US Government would have us believe. http://911research.wtc7.net/wtc/evidence/videos/index.html ... and many other pages.)

No, it does not in any way!
Instead of going to the dentist, you should have had faith in god and repented for all the junk food you ate and then should accept god in your life and beg Him for help! Bingo!

your answer holds the truth. however, it does not really answer the question about God's allowing pain, suffering, starving children, etc in the world. If God is so almighty, why does he allow all this? I think it all has to do with the fall of man, and free will. The curse of death is on us all, and we are all sinful by nature. This world now belongs to satan, therefore, it is full of death, destruction, starvation, terrorism, wars and more.

Dentists do not cause tooth decay, they just treat the symptoms. Thus your question should not be "Why should a god not help someone who is suffering?" but "Why should a god choose to create suffering in the first place?".
Your question is invalid, try again.

Yeah, but if a starving child from Ethiopia goes to a dentist every week he will have his teeth fixed. If he goes to church on Sunday and prays for food he will still be starving.
