When Toshiba was made in Japan they were good TVs ! Unfortunately Toshiba like most other leading brands have moved their assembly to cheap labour country's like the Philippines or Taiwan or China . Standards have consequently fallen so much that there is little difference between the Brands so its pot luck on what day of the week your particular unit left the assembly line, that however is another story !!

Surprisingly most of the TV manufacturers buy their components from the same suppliers so the only difference is the final assembly. Make sure you get the manufacturers guarantee and keep it in a safe place.
