At my last teeth cleaning, my gums started to bleed and the hygienist told me to floss. So I started flossing every day and the bleeding stopped. The "funny taste" in your mouth... well that sounds kind of serious... you should see a dentist.

Having a bad taste in the mouth can be because of inflammed gingiva or in other words you can say a gum disease. One of the most reliable and reprodicible sign of gum disease is bleeding on slight provocation or spontaneous bleeding in severe cases. You are definitely suffering from a gum disease. The next cause is abscess in the mouth and gingiva. Yet others are periodontal pockets, a grossly decayed tooth, or a retained rooth stump after gross destruction of the coronal portion of the crown, any opening sinus tract from a perapical abscess or a periodontal abscess.
Whatever be the cause you need to see your dentist to get the condition treated.

What does your dentist say? It sounds like gingivitis. If your flossing and using a mouth rinse this can get the gum bleeding under control. One really good thing that you can do is every three months get some Betadine swabs and trace around each tooth at the gum line. This will kill and prevent the growth of bacteria that causes decay and halitosis, it tastes like really bad worst taste ever but man it works like a charm! Good luck and let me know if this helps you!

a dentist would be the person to help you.
If you cant get to a dentist, floss, brush your gums as well as your teeth, and brush your tongue.
the taste may or may not be dental related,
Let me ask, do you have allergies? are you stuffed up?
post nasal drip and nasal infections have a tendencey to cause weird tastes, when ive had them it was sort of metallic. if thats the case use some serious decongestants

Talk to a local dentist ASAP.
While gum disease can be attributable to many things such as diabetes, stress, and medications, the fact is that the majority of Americans who are afflicted with gum disease have nothing more to blame than a combination of poor dental hygiene, poor nutrition, and tobacco use (if you are a smoker). Gum disease is no laughing matter folks. It is a very serious and unnecessary risk to your health, not to mention your smile and ability to chew solid food into your twilight years.
The early stage of gum disease is gingivitis, where the gums redden, swell, and bleed easily, yet can be reversed with professional cleanings and proper dental hygiene. However, if left untreated, gingivitis can progress into periodontitis. Periodontitis is much more of a threat, and with time, plaque can spread below the gum line, creating a breeding ground for harmful bacteria and toxins. These toxins produce a chronic inflammatory response that cause the tissue and bone that support the teeth to be broken down and destroyed. Gums will separate from the teeth, forming pockets which can become infected by the already present bacteria. Ultimately, if no action has been taken, the resulting bone loss and infection will call for the tooth to be removed in the afflicted area.
Sadly, gums cannot regenerate themselves, and the bones that hold your beautiful teeth in place will not reform. But, if caught soon enough (before your teeth fall out of your head), gum disease can be stopped dead in its tracks, pockets will close up, gums will become toned and healthy, and the former threat of bone loss will no longer exist.

New searches has found that smoking damages the body not within hours, but within minutes. Smoking does kill, however it is only minorly safe in small times, at least limit to 2 a week if you're addicted, 3 is enough but a bit much. Smoking will kill you though if you keep going for like a year or more.

Before you diagnose yourself see a dentist. As for bleeding are you brushing too hard on your gums? Be careful it will cause major receeding and your gums will never grow back.

Sounds like gingivitis, or a throat infection. An oral mothwash should help, or you could chew day gum.
