A rhetorical question might be considered to be a way of expressing an opinion e.g. "Do you really think that...." when the person saying it has opposite view
Spelling matters. It is not necessarily bad to get your spelling wrong, but when it is done deliberately (i.e. when using text speak on these forums) it can be irritating to the reader and so matters in that instance, as an example.

Does spelling matter? My old English teacher used to say "If you mis-spell C-A-T as D-O-G then it matters a lot."
On a more personal level, I haev often regretted sending an email after mistyping... I WILL NOT DO IT" as "I WILL NOW DO IT" and "HAVE" as "HAEV" but that's just a typo.
Also, when I type fast, my keyboard (which has no rollover) often reverses some key combinations. I'm sick of seeing NIG instead of ING. People will be thinknig I can't spell. Or even type.

Most statements are really just opinions. And, no spelling does not really matter. A good friend of mine cannot read or write, but he is the most decent, intelligent guy I know. We shouldn't "Knock" people just because they cannot spell.
In my humble opinion, of course.

answers to questions lead to opinions and spelling shouldn't matter unless the person reading the response is anal rententive about spelling. even then who cares!
