What is the cause of an ice cream headache?

What causes brain freeze? It is so hot here in Florida and I am curious as to why cooling off can cause me such a sharp pain in my forehead.

Because the cold ice cream in your mouth dilates the blood vessels in your head really fast and causes a headache.
