Feminism is good, chivalry is dead. People should be treated equally regardless of their sex.

My mother was a diehard feminist from the 60's & the 70's. She has been married 5 times. Iv'e been amazed by her relationship with her current husband (#5). He seems like a really nice guy and this marriage for her seems to be working very well.

Truth is, her attitude has changed. She knows she is getting old. When she has a few drinks she regresses back to the hardcore feminist she was. But she knows things have changed. She actually seems to be a happier person today than in years past.

As for me, I totally gave up on American women. I came to Thailand a few years ago looking for a wife and ended up staying over here. I live in Bangkok and I'm teaching at a private language school.

Thai women are a breath of fresh air. The game over here is totally different than in the States. They are not mean like American women. And they are so beautiful. They really understand what being "sexy" is all about.

This is really a good question, however someone could go on for hours debating the benefits and negatives of feminism.

Many American men feel as though they have not been appreciated or respected by women. They feel like they did what they where "suppossed to do", and never got the "reward" of a meaningful relationship. They accuse women of "having their cake and eating it too." So to speak.

We can't say children benefited from this. Nor the men. But alot of women have enjoyed this "power" that they have had. But this "power" in the long run has not accomplished much for them. Multiple marriages, messed up kids, and careers that may not have "paid out" as well as the women thought. Alot of resentful men, many who turned to alcohol out of lonliness and frustration. Not to mention the young men that get suckered into the bar and club scene, and a state of perpetual singleness.

But you know what? I see how women are treated over here and I feel sorry for them. They get a really crappy deal compared to American women. It seems like Western men and Thai women are a great combination. We offer each other what our native opposites can't give us.

Feel free to contact me if you like. Mike

Good till a certain point. It was important to let the women have same human rights, but it's stupid when it wants complete equality. That's impossible due to the biological differences, and those affect the rights too. Women need extra rights when they bear a child, for example.

Good, insofar as it gives women the rights they deserve. Chivalry is fine, and if particular women choose to regard it as an insult then stuff 'em :-)
