Cats are independent animals: they'll make their way back after a long time.

I would like to say your cat will return as mine done the same thing to me, I went away on holiday and my neighbour kindly offered to look after my cats and my boy cat who is a mummys boy, refused to come in the house and then disappeared which made my neighbours worry like mad for when I returned, but then he came back as if he had done nothing wrong without a care in the world,
SO good luck and i hope your cat returns.....

Hi!! I know how you feel. I have cats and dogs and other. I get devistated when one is missing. First, check the pound. Sometimes people take advantage of knowing your gone and will call the dog pound and say there is a stray. Second, please do this, ask God to please bring your cat home or to let you know what happened to it. He DOES answer prayer!!! Third, if it is a female and in heat she might be gone for a week or two. If it is a male he might be gone for awhile if another cat is in heat. If he or she is fixed than she might just be scared you left her and be hiding. Mine sometimes are gone for weeks and then they appear. I get myself all worked up and comb the streets and after all that, they show up. Do not hesitate on calling the pound cause if they picked her up, they will only keep them about 3 days. I pray this helps!!! Kathryn The only alternative is if she got hit by a car and no one will speak up. I pray not!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Contact your local vet - they usually have a register of lost and found cats. Also don't hesitate to do the "Lost Cat" poster thing on lamp posts. Last summer our cat went off for a week and came back. But now she's been gone for three months - after living with us for 2 years. I'm devastated..... but still hoping she'll come back.

Try putting a bowl of food out in the garden for it, ask your neighbours to check sheds, garages etc. Check with the local vet and cats protection people and put posters up in the nearby streets. We did all that and got our cat back after being missing for three weeks.

Call your local police and make a missing cat report. Check your local shelters. Leave a bowl of water and food near your house. I once found a stray kitten and called the local police and the owner came within an hour to pick it up.

my cat went missing for over 3 week we gave up hope but he ended up coming back. there are 3 things way he might be misiing
1. someone else may be leaving food out and your cats there
2. coz u went on hoilday he might rather be looking for u or may think your not back yet as cats know when owners are missing
3.it could be he as meet the opposite sex and spending time with her this happens with many cats
I REALLY HOPE U FIND HIM SOON

Maybe you should walk around your district and scream that your bak fromholidays and hopefully your cat will hear you and return.. Though seriously if your neighbour treated the cat bad then he's not likely to return..

Most cats do return home, but he may have been in an accident, try your local animal rescue centre he may have been picked up as a stray, and taken there if he has no collar on. Hope you find him soon.
