I have a Konica Minolta 5d, 6.1 mil pixels, the problem I have when I down load the pics onto my computer it seems to take for ever, before I had a small sony w7, that was very quick..
Is there anybody who without daft answers give me advice...

Zoom jet, it is not a daft answer, I am not on raw or jpeg, just on fine, I am wondering if the computer is the problem, as the memory is 256...

The first thing, as mentioned before, dont connect your camera directly to the computer, use a card reader. And dont copy then past, do a direct drag to the file you are going to save them in.

Second, if you are going to work with Photography then 256 is way to slow. The best computers are Apple. If you are not using that then you should have at least 512 to 1 gb of memory.

Are you transferring files to your PC by connecting your 5d directly?
Use a good card reader and slot your card into that. However, a 6 mega pixel camera depending on the quality setting and file format you are using (jpeg, raw) is going to create large files. Sorry if this answer is daft!

Computer Slow

Download and then run startup.exe at:

http://www.mlin.net/startupcpl.shtml......

Can't live without it and windows...

Then disable and/or uninstall whatever u don't need.

Other things to try:

1 - Disk Cleanup (removal of temp files, cookies, etc.)
2 - Defrag
3 - Registry Cleanup (CAN BE VERY RISKY!)
