The DaVinci Code is Fiction, hence it revealed no longer something and human beings who're freaking out are basically being stupid. Alot of human beings, myself blanketed, already believed Jesus to be a prophet, no longer a God. Alot of Christians believed this as properly. and what's humorous is... you bear in mind Dogma? no person have been given excited approximately Dogma! Oh, and Travus up there... that's a unique no longer a hoax. Novels can't be hoaxes because of the fact they are, by way of definition, fiction. A hoax is a few thing that claimed to teach some thing yet grow to be particularly made up. The DaVinci Code would not try this. It takes extremely some historic info, lots of of historic rumors, some folklore and the author's mind's eye and makes a nifty tale.

Sometimes we have to sacrifice the things we might enjoy for the things for a much greater cause. Take army soldiors for an example.

While Jesus didn't marry, you will notice in Bible that almost all prophets were married. Also he wasn't too old before he was raised to the heaven so maybe if he had stayed a little longer, he might have married to someone.

Also Jesus never said anything against marriages. It was once again Paul who went against the nature of human kind. No wonder you see many sex molesters on the Church. Are you telling me is that what God wants from his people that they suffer from their sexual desire and end up breaking all the rules that God has created for them?

About daver's response...umm think of the relationship of a wif eand husband...if they are always together they can also help eachother spiritually, plus the guy/girl won't get into temptation to a nother woman/man...plus priests might not have wifes and kids n' stuff...but if they have thoughts about women it's the same as they would have sex with someone no?...it's better if they have a woman so if they have those nasty thoughts they can go to the wife and...so yeah umm I think you understand.
Children are always a blessing....the more the kids the bigger the blessing.
Of course people with hardened faith don't need wifes to resist temptations...but still...haveing a woman at the house is good....
But of course it's a good idea to stay pure and virgin...it's just a but hard to resist the temptation but if someone can then go for it.
But if you can't it wont cause you problems...just get a girl....

Before asking such questions you should learn who Jesus Christ is. He is not a human like you and me. He was the son of God, sent in a human form to perform a specific task. That of providing a way of salvation for mankind through the process of dying on the cross and rising up on the third day and going back to heaven without being dead. With that kind of lofty task ahead, why would He be interested in marriage and family? He was not going to stay here on the earth anyway. His purpose was to leave as soon as His task was over. That accomplished, He went back (ascended into) heaven. Now, do you understand?

He could be. If you read the bible, he strips down and wears only a towel. Then he washes the feet of his friends. Then get this. He uses the towel that he is currently and only wearing and dries their feet. OK, there are a few gay things going on here. First, he strips, then rejoins his friends only wearing a towel!!! Yuk! If that is not bad enough, he then proceeds to satisfy his foot fetish. Then he dries their feet with the same cloth that was just rubbing against his member? SICK!!!

He even forces his friends to submit to his sick foot fetish:
John 13:8 "No," said Peter, "you shall never wash my feet."
Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me."

Jesus' friend is totally into him and wants more than just his feet:
John 13:9 "Then, Lord," Simon Peter replied, "not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!"

The question I'm asking you:

Does it matter if he wasn't married? NOBODY knows since the Bible doesn't say - and who cares if he was? It doesn't change what He did...

He also knew that He was going to have to go on the cross and die - so wouldn't you also choose not to marry and hurt the one's you love? I always think of it as putting myself in his shoes (if they had any?)

Paul also says that it is better for people not to get married in 1 Cor. 7:32-33, 38 - Paul recommends celibacy for full-time ministers in the Church so that they are able to focus entirely upon God and building up His kingdom. He “who refrains from marriage will do better.”

There are more specifics as to why but you can read that up yourself!

No. He's the Son of God. He's pure, and there's no marriage in heaven anyway. He was crusified at his peak of life. I'm not sure at that time what age men usally married. But in fact he's the son of God!

Also there are many older men today who never have been married, I don't thing they are gay. Now a days people don't get married until they are older or not at all.

No he just wanted to stay pure and focused on the work he had to accomplish. Dont forget that Jesus was human but he was also divine and he didnt have common people's needs and weaknesses.

Jesus was setting the example for all the leaders in His Church by remaining celibate. Even though celibacy for church leaders is not dogma, it is considered a "church discipline" of biblical origins:

Matt. 19:11-12 - Jesus says celibacy is a gift from God and whoever can bear it should bear it. Jesus praises and recommends celibacy for full-time ministers in the Church. Because celibacy is a gift from God, those who criticize the Church's practice of celibacy are criticizing God and this wonderful gift He bestows on His chosen ones.

Matt. 19:29 - Jesus says that whoever gives up children for the sake of His name will receive a hundred times more and will inherit eternal life. Jesus praises celibacy when it is done for the sake of His kingdom.

Matt. 22:30 - Jesus explains that in heaven there are no marriages. To bring about Jesus' kingdom on earth, priests live the heavenly consecration to God by not taking a wife in marriage. This way, priests are able to focus exclusively on the spiritual family, and not have any additional pressures of the biological family (which is for the vocation of marriage). This also makes it easier for priests to be transferred to different parishes where they are most needed without having to worry about the impact of their transfer on wife and children.

1 Cor 7:1 – Paul teaches that it is well for a man not to touch a woman. This is the choice that the Catholic priests of the Roman rite freely make.

1 Cor. 7:7 - Paul also acknowledges that celibacy is a gift from God and wishes that all were celibate like he is.

1 Cor. 7:27 – Paul teaches men that they should not seek marriage. In Paul’s opinion, marriage introduces worldly temptations that can interfere with one’s relationship with God, specifically regarding those who will become full-time ministers in the Church.

1 Cor. 7:32-33, 38 - Paul recommends celibacy for full-time ministers in the Church so that they are able to focus entirely upon God and building up His kingdom. He “who refrains from marriage will do better.”

1 Tim. 3:2 - Paul instructs that bishops must be married only once. Many Protestants use this verse to prove that the Church's celibacy law is in error. But they are mistaken because this verse refers to bishops that were widowers. Paul is instructing that these widowers could not remarry. The verse also refers to those bishops who were currently married. They also could not remarry (in the Catholic Church's Eastern rite, priests are allowed to marry; celibacy is only a disciplinary rule for the clergy of the Roman rite). Therefore, this text has nothing to do with imposing a marriage requirement on becoming a bishop.

1 Tim. 4:3 - in this verse, Paul refers to deceitful doctrines that forbid marriage. Many non-Catholics also use this verse to impugn the Church's practice of celibacy. This is entirely misguided because the Catholic Church (unlike many Protestant churches) exalts marriage to a sacrament. In fact, marriage is elevated to a sacrament, but consecrated virginity is not. The Church declares marriage sacred, covenantal and lifegiving. Paul is referring to doctrines that forbid marriage and other goods when done outside the teaching of Christ and for a lessor good. Celibacy is an act of giving up one good (marriage and children) for a greater good (complete spiritual union with God).

1 Tim. 5:9-12 - Paul recommends that older widows take a pledge of celibacy. This was the beginning of women religious orders.

2 Tim. 2:3-4 - Paul instructs his bishop Timothy that no soldier on service gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim his to satisfy the One who enlisted him. Paul is using an analogy to describe the role of the celibate priesthood in the Church.

Rev. 14:4 - unlike our sinful world of the flesh, in heaven, those consecrated to virginity are honored.

Isaiah 56:3-7 - the eunuchs who keep God's covenant will have a special place in the kingdom of heaven.

Jer. 16:1-4 - Jeremiah is told by God not to take a wife or have children.
