Also, when India fired theirs (it was a failure BTW) the media said it had the potential to hit Beijing. There was no mention of the Eastern European or Middle Eastern cities it could also potentially hit. To me it seems like a clear example of double standards. Your thoughts?

Yes it is an example of double standards.

However India is a lot more stable than N Korea. India's historic foes are China and Pakistan who both are nuclear powers.

The idea of a mad dictator, on 17 cm platform shoes, armed with nuclear weapons to compensate for penis envy gives me nightmares. The mad dictator also hates the whole world.

The short answer is that India informed the world powers of its impending launch. What kind of missile, when the missile was going to be fired, where it was going to be fired from and most importantly, what was on top of the missile. NK did not do any of these things and the world isn't mad, they are fearful. NK does not get along with South Korea or Japan, both countries have every reason to be fearful.

It has nothing to do with nuclear weapons except that no one knows if there is one on top of one of those missiles, or where the missile is pointed. What if it was a Nuclear test, designed to land in the northern section of NK? What if it went off course and struck Japan? What if it was just a test and hit Japan killing perhaps thousands? Too many "What If's" for me... If NK was a more open society and government, allowed nuclear inspections (as every other nuclear and suspected nuclear power {except Iran} allow) the world would not get mad at NK missile launches. Every country has the right to defend itself, but not at the cost of ramdomly launching missiles and scareing the populations of its neighbors without telling them something about the launches.

For all the world knows, NK was trying to launch a sneak attack. They could have been testing missiles as they claimed, they might have been trying to put a Communications Satelite into orbit on one of those missiles/rockets. The point is, no one knows and thats just bad for world relations.

FYI: India has Nuclear Weapons (First tested in 1974), NK is Suspected to have Nuclear Weapons.

No, This is not a double standard. You should refer to the origion of all standards un the world which is U.S.A!! AND ALL THINGS SHOULD END IN THE BENEFIT OF IT. when India gets more nuclear weapon as a result Pakistan also would improve its nuclear strenght and this has three result:
1- More weapon would purchased from large armorer factory in the U.S and this improve america.
2- Two muslim and neighbour country will be the bloody enemies of each other and this prevent from strenghting muslim society.
3- India don't convict israil and we should support it!!
All the above is not correct about North Korea.

India as u all know is the largest democratic country in the world.Indians never said or will nuke its neighbors when they are under threat. They only announced they will use it as a retaliation. Moreover all its neighbors are armed with nukes,so it has no options. In the case of of N Korea its exactly opposite. They have become threat to the world.India would never nuke its enemies, while N Korea could nuke anyone.india is a peace loving country

Why do you care that N. Korea fired 3 missiles? it really is a particular ensure that if even one million hits the U. S. by skill of mistake, N. Korea turns right into a ordinary parking zone in one day. previous that, what the f- is your answer? All Bush has executed is play patty-cake with Kim Jong, a twin of Clinton.

Because india has been firing them for years. They are a more stable country then N Korea. N korea has recently gotten into nukes which is why everyone is tweaking out about. They are unstable and might use nukes to attack someone. India isnt going to attack someone in the near future unless attacked first

North Korea sponsors terrorism while India supports anti-terrorism. North Korea is a threat to other nations due to its aggressive foreign policy while India is perceived to make missiles for defense.

Slick is wrong: India DOES have nukes. So does Pakistan. America usually makes less of a stink about "friendly" countries having intercontinental nuclear capability than "rogue" nations, and it is true that India is the world's largest democracy.

India's test seemed to have come as no surprise to the UN permanent security counsel and North Korea's as a shock for reasons best known to them.
