Peoples limited capacity cannot comprehend God and religion's inadequate attempt to explain God proved the theory. Remember that religion is an ideology adhered to and propagated by a group of people.

All religions begin the same way. And, they proceed the same way, too. The original founder starts a campaign against corruption and tyranny of religions followed in the area at that time. The movement takes on and slowly expands across wider regions. After the death of the founder his followers continue, but little by little rivalry and struggle for power starts, lastly ending in corruption and tyranny just as when this religion was begun in the first place. Somewhere along the line the founder becomes god or his messiah. This continues till another sect or a religion starts all over again.
Just a P.S.: Gautam Buddha preached non-violence and was against non-vegitarian food. He was for relinquishing all earthly possessions, etc. etc.; But look at some of the followers of Buddhism today.

It's evolved in the sense that the more we know about the universe, the less there is that could possibly be attributed to gods, so instead of being right here in the world, causing disease and making volcanoes erupt and causing storms etc., gods are relegated being abstract concepts with very little connection to real life.
Also, as society makes moral progress away from old religious dogma, religion evolves along with it in an effort to claw back some of its lost influence and popularity - e.g. by admitting women to the priesthood, by deciding that god has changed his mind on homosexuality etc.

The fact that there is a KJV should answer your question. Remember, religion is actually just a few peoples opinions that has been interpreted for a couple of thousand years. In kindergarten, we played this game called the phone game. In that game, you tell someone a word, then they tell someone else the word and so on around the room. After 2 or 3 tellings, that word changes. The bible is no different.

Some religions have evolved and others not.
Evolving but you must know that more and more people nowaday don;t take care in religion like years ago.
Religion has developed their administration, transmission... but population joined in it has reduced.
Modern Lifestyle not allow people spend much time in religion events even go to a church, join a sacrament, requiem..
Beside religion People now have a lot of things can support their mentality.

It depends which religion you're talking about. Paganism has evolved many times the newest form being Wicca but other religions such as Catholicism has stayed the same and in a lot of ways doesn't really fit in with modern society.

To the extent religion is about morality, codes of personal behavior, answers to the eternal philosophical questions, these things do not change. What is the soul? Is it right to favor only yourself? Is there an intent behind natural phenomena, a reality behind or distinct from our perceptions? We are still facing the same questions as 2,000 years ago, or 4,000.
Religion in terms of religious institutions does change. Churches are creatures of their times.

Stagnant. There is nothing new under the sun. I don't think religion should be disconnected from the people that created it.
