Material possessions were not important to him, and it should be the same with us.

basically this stereotype came from the medieval ages I believe. Because back then it was believed to be a sin to be a money lender by christians, but jews did not believe this and became the needed money lenders.
And of course everyone knows that interest rates is where all money lenders get huge amounts of profits. For instance on a typical 9 thousand dollar student loan, if you pay the minimum payment every month after graduation, you will have paid the lender 25 thousand dollars, so that's 16 thousand going straight into their pocket. So as you can see, money lending is a very lucrative business, and people of the jewish faith basically had a monopoly then. So as long as they had some money to begin with, they could quickly earn a much larger fortune in medieval Europe.

They aren't all rich.. in fact there are some poor as hell Jews out there. Jews are stereotypically rich because of their appreciation for higher education, traditionally worked in banking and finance and culturally have different values on spending money. Jesus was a Jew, but that doesn't mean he was rich - who really was back then?

First, all Jews are not rich. Second, Jesus chose to be devoid of material posessions to better emphasize the need for spiritual wealth.
By the way, think about it....a guy who can turn water into wine, feed multitudes with bare minimums, heal the sick and raise the dead could never really be poor unless he made a willful choice to be poor.

Jesus wasn't poor by the standards of the day he lived in. He was a skilled laborer by trade (a carpenter) that he had learned from his workings with Joseph. The poverty that Jesus endured, as Jesus also asked of his followers, was by choice. You have to remember also that Jesus lived in a agrian society and wealth back then was not merely an issues of financial capital.
So now that I have attempted to answer your question in a rational manner I have a question for you. Why are you so focused on Jews in the manner you ask your questions?

Jesus came to earth to be an example to us. To show us what is really important in life. We should not be building up riches on this earth, but building up riches in Heaven. We do this by ministering to the people around us and sharing the gift of salvation with them.

Can ya get any stupider? I don't think so...why the freakin' interest in Jewish bank accounts. Maybe Jesus was setting an example that we should trust God for all the needed things like roof and food. Stop asking the same dumb question over and over and use your brain...~J~ <><
