Reason and WISDOM are one of the key gifts to Mankind by the Mighty Lord. That is why we humans know the Lord and the animal World does not build churches, temples, mosques or synagogues. We know through reason that this universe did not come about automatically. Every single thing or object or person we see around us has come about through some cause. There is Cause and Effect all around us.
THE ULTIMATE CAUSE is the Lord Most High. Those who are truly religious and not just regimental are indeed highly rational people who you can discuss in reason and have a rational debate. The less reasonable and knowledgeable a person becomes the more he will give answers that are more to protect his belief system than a genuine answer to a rational question.
I am personally a deeply religious man, who did not acquire my religion just because I was born in a family who taught me my faith, but through long and deep study and questioning all aspects of my belief system. THEN and only THEN did I accept my faith, including my faith in the MOST HIGH LORD ALMIGHTY.
Do you have any difficult questions? If a person can not answer himself or herself, perhaps they can find an answer from another who is knowledgeable.
Key is to ask the right questions and also from the RIGHT SOURCE. If I ask a toddler where did her father go, she will not be able to give me a mature answer. If you ask the wife, she will. So, it is not only the question, but also who you ask that matters in these issues.
I hope I am making sense.

That depends on if "God did it" is the correct answer or not. If someone asked "Who decieved Eve?" And the other answered "God did it" then the answer is obviously wrong. You may ask a question where "God did it" is the right answer, but you want a more technical answer. Unfortuneately not all Christians have the technical answers to all questions, just like you probably yould know answers to questions like "What is the effect high gravity fields have on the properties of sub-atomic particles during the fusion of heavy elements?" (If you do know the answer to that, I'll be very surprised.)

No - the whole reason they say 'god did it' is because they are unable to come up with a rational answer. This is hardly surprising since what they are trying to defend is essentially irrational.
The one thing that a true believer cannot do is think - they just spout a few pre-packaged words and bible quotes and hope that the person they are addressing is as gullible as they are.

I believe in God and I know why things happen. I just believe that God caused those things to happen.
You say this happens because all this other stuff happens, that's kind of duh. God gave all things all the properties they have. Newton's Laws are really God's Laws.
It's easy to keep faith and rationality. most don't because thinking is harder then doing.
So basically I'm saying it is possible to have a rational discussion since I can tell you God did it, then you can tell me why it scientifically happened and I can tell you I know, that's how God designed it. You're not wrong and neither am I since I can't prove there is a God any easier then I can prove there isn't one. It's a matter of faith to believe and admittedly my faith is blind but I am not blind if you understand what I'm saying.

Of course not. Religious beliefs are really no subject for a rational debate anyway.
Religion is an altogether different entity than science and has no business attempting to take the place of it or answers questions posed by it. Likewise, science has no business attempting to take the place of religion or answer questions posed by it.
Attempting to pit one against the other is telling of ones ignorance of both the methods of science and/or religion.

no, not unless they expand on their goddidit answer with a reason for why they think goddidit. It's like talking to a parrot when they only say "god did it" in response to the more difficult answers.
oh, and it's also not possible to have a rational debate with someone who says "because the bible says so" to answer questions.
