I'm on a prescription drug that for most, strangely, makes them gain weight. But for me, it decreases my appetite. I'm 6'5", 165 lbs. I used to be 180 and went all the way down to 160. I've posted on bodybuilding websites since I do work out if there is any supplement out there that will do this but they just mock me and say that I have to force feed myself. Getting off the medication is not an option becuz I've already asked my doctor if I could and he won't budge and he's a really good doctor. I've heard that taking large quantities of B-12 helps, but I haven't tried it cuz I don't want to get an ulcer or something from all those pills. It's frustrating that there are so many weight loss products out there on the market but I've never heard of anything in the bodybuilding world that helps you gain weight. I have weight gainer shakes but I heard that if you don't do cardio in additon to weight training, it will just go to your gut. I've been told to stay away from cardio...

Protein rich food is something you can depend on.
but if you are putting on weight.. watch out.. appetiter...is not the best..

use your muscle, put weights and work out.. initially you will lose weight.. but you will start putting on weight as you gradully increase your workouts. Your capacity is determined by your metabolic rate. how much you consume to how much you spend. the more you spend the less you have in your body.

Hence if the opposite work.. you spend less calories and your intake is more calories then you will start putting on weight.

here again.. don't try anything silly. Yes cardio does contribute to ur weight loss. but its also determined.. each of us have a limit to which we can spend our calories.. hence don't you worry. the more you work.. you will start eating more.. you will get back if you stick to a standard food chart..

see you have enough protein and fat in you diet..

From what you state I think that you don't have any problem about weigh loss. You loss( or rather deduction of the flabby matter) is not something to worry about also. Even if you have not mentioned the period within which this loss occured I feel that it was not sudden.Your present weight is OK to you height. In fact, your earlier weght was also not very excessive.

Undert hese circumstances you eagerness to vet your appetite is not understood That the weight is being maintained(neither reduced nor increased)is a sign of good health. With exercises the appetitie does come down a bit and it is quite OK. Your yearning for inceased intake appears to be more due to the remarks of your companions.Your lesser intake ,as I said, is a natural phenomenon. Don't be under the psychological fear on that account. The body takes the food it needs and refuses more. And you try to forcefeed yourself because of the comments of your friends. Do not do that. Let the body take of itself. The fact that you have to remain under contant medication shows that perhaps your digestive system is rather tender and that is one more reason not to force it. You may occasionally try to take different types of food spicy, oily and all that but just change the routine. Your normal diet is your cup of tea.

After weight work outs drink a pint of milk. The protein in the milk helps your muscles with healing quicker and give more mass. Eat meat if you're not a vegetarian cause that will also help you gain weight.

Most of the time a regular multi-vitamin will increase your appetite. Just be careful not to burn up more calories than you take in. Over exercising will defeat the purpose of gaining weight.
