Hi Pooja never be fed up.almost 85% of the mother-in-laws are like that.Just never give any back answers to her.Never get into arguments with her.Try to avoid such situations.Do your duty well and never give her any chance to complain. One more important thing is if u seem to be sad with her she will try to harse u more.Try to show her that you are quiet happy and she can never take it from you how hard she may try.Have patience. She will come to ur way.Good Luck.I am also travelling in the same boat.

Moms in law are almost ALWAYS like that, sweet as sugar,
in front of her son, and horrible when alone. If your husband is the only son then god help you , you have to bear with it, or else just get away to another country with a new job. persuade your hubby about the merits of overseas jobs, blah blah, and once you are off to a distant land , without her constant interference, he will realise that the atmosphere at home is so much cooler, and maybe things will work out for you.

Mother-in-law comes with the territory of being married, but you have to confront her and have a talk with her. Let her get to know you as a person. You have to accept her if you want her to accept you. Retaliation could only make things worse for the both of you. So don't stoop to her level. You have to be the bigger person.
Just have a heart to heart talk with her. After all, she IS the mother of your dearly beloved, so she can't be all bad.

This is a mother in law we're talking about, right? Okay, what part about Mother In Law gave you the impression that anything good would exist about having a mother in law? Making your life hell isn't just her hobby, it's her job. That's why she's your mother in law...instead of your mother.

Don't argue with her. Never shout at her for any wrong doing. Just do what you want to do, but never shout back. Basically, you are not going to acheive anything by doing so.
If she behaves badly, it's her problem. I would say, BE THE BETTER PERSON. If she doesn't realize, it is okay. Live your life to the fullest! All the best!

Move far away. Really dont let her control anything in your hom/family. Your Husband needs to be the one to have a heart to heart with her and lay down the law and more important...stand by what he says.

Think long and hard about what you decide to do. I think you should play nice but be nasty at the same time. If she acts one way let her know that you know what she is doing. If you are nice about it and she says something to your husband or whoever then they can say "I don't know what you are talking about she seems to be nice to you when I am around." Then when things don't go her way she will confront you and you can tell her how you feel. Nice but Nasty!!

First try and talk to her about it. Then if that doesn't work, set up an audio or video recorder to capture her being mean and manipulative and then play it at the next family gathering.
