What exactly is a body wave perm? what does it look like?

A body wave perm is like a regular perm but they use larger diameter perm rods on your hair and maybe the perm solution is a bit gentler but that is all. It gives more wave and soft curls than it does tight curls and I think from what I saw on a friends hair, it drops out a bit more qucker too.
